Visible red string

Chapter 3

A new morning has arrived; Nydia left her house ready for school. As she closes the door to leave the house, Jerry shouted, "Morning Nydia!"

Nydia's unconsciously turn to Jerry. He cheerfully walked up to her and said, "I am still curious of what you meant the other day. Tell me. What do you mean by touching Mell's string?"

Nydia felt bad for what she did yesterday so she said, "the red string of fate."

Jerry waiting for her to continue, but it looks like she has finish speaking. Jerry continues bombarding her with more questions, "What about the red string of fate?"

"You don't know? You can touch it."

"Huh? Are you saying you can see it? You can see what I am touching? I thought it is a spider web I am touching all along! And what about the red string of fate?"

Nydia looks at him and nod and said, "Red string of fate. It is a Chinese myth."

Jerry look slightly confuse. Nydia saw his confusion and ready to tell him more about it. Jerry looks very serious and ready to obtain the new information he is about to receive. Nydia looks him in the eye and said in a serious tone, "Google it." *Face palm* Jerry is shocked. He thought that she is telling him more but she tell him to google it? What humiliation is this? But he does not want to give, he quick catch up to her and said, "tell me about it, it is easy to understand when someone explains it to me!"

Nydia stares at him with a blank face saying, 'you know nothing, search up the basics before talking to me.' While she stare at him she just thought of something and she said, "Don't carelessly touch people's strings."

"What? Like Mell's string?"

As soon as Jerry finished his sentence Mell jump on Nydia's back and cheerfully shouted, "Good Morning!"

"Mell" Nydia glace an evil stare at Mell . She bounced back from the dark aura emitted from Nydia, she recover from the cold stare and she grinned and said, "ehehe, did I scare you? Anyway! I heard my name. What were you talking about?"

Jerry spoke up and said, "Morning Mell! We were talking about the red string of fate. Nydia has the power to... mph." *SMACK* Nydia palm strike Jerry's mouth in the nick of time before he finish off his sentence. Nydia inch closer to his ear and said seriously, "Keep this a secret." Jerry nod like a little rabbit from what the lion told him what to do. Normally in this situation he will bark back, but he became a little rabbit.

Mell eyes sparkled and said in cheerful mocking tone, "oh oh! What is going on? Are you two going out or something?" as she winked.

Jerry laughed sarcastically in response.

After school has arrived, Jerry went up to Nydia and asks her, "Tell me more about the red string. I looked it up and it says that the string ties on people's Ankles, but how come I can feel the string connected to people's wrist. Also, I thought it was just a myth?"

"Myths can be true. And that is all you need to know. Your power can interfere with people's fate."

"So all along I can touch people strings that connect the destiny people together?"

"Yes."

Jerry looks very surprise and full of regret and he whisper to himself, "It can't be, was it me that make my sister and her boyfriend into a big argument 5 years ago?"

"See, so don't use your power to destroy people's relationships."

Jerry expression changed from regret to full of bubble and excitingly said, "That is so cool! I can change people's relationship and the path they go through. Do you think I can break the red string between two people?"

Nydia little flame grew into a big massive inferno and shouted, "HOW CAN YOU RUIN PEOPLES LIVES AND BE SO HAPPY?!"

Jerry jump back and clarify his actions, "Well, they was happier when they had the argument."

"That was just your opinion; you should not change the course of the string." Nydia angrily storm off. Jerry lost sight of her and just went his own way home.

In the mist of greenery of the park, Nydia is leaning against the tree sitting on the ground with her eyes closed listening to the nature's music of birds singing with trees playing in harmony to calm her down. Whenever Jerry is around Nydia bring her guard down and make her angry most of the time. why is that? While Nydia thinks about Kerry her flame lit into a big inferno, 'how can he say that. He thinks it is fun to mess around with people's fate. How can he!..."

Nydia pause in her thoughts, she pop her eyes open and bounce up. She just remembered that she told her power to him. What if he tells people in class to get revenge since she shouted at him?
