Lance looked around at the bustling beach, feeling grateful for the warmth of the sun on his skin and the sound of the waves lapping against the shore. His family had planned this picnic day for weeks, and he was thrilled it was finally here. They had brought a huge blanket, a cooler filled with ice-cold drinks, and plenty of snacks to keep them satisfied throughout the day.

As he looked out towards the water, Lance could see his younger sister, Rachel, frolicking in the waves with their cousins. He smiled to himself, feeling lucky to have such a close-knit family who loved to spend time together. His parents were sitting nearby, chatting with his aunts and uncles and soaking up the sun, while his older brother, Luis, was throwing a football with some of his friends from the island.

Rosalie giggled as she tried to apply sunscreen to Lance's back, and he couldn't help but laugh along with her. "Hey, be careful back there," he teased. "I don't want to end up with sunburn in the shape of a handprint."

She rolled her eyes playfully. "You're such a drama queen, Lance. Besides, you'll thank me later when you're not writhing in pain."

Lance grinned at her teasing, his heart swelling with affection for her.

He leaned back and closed his eyes, savoring the feeling of Rosalie's hands on his skin. He had been looking forward to this day for so long, and everything was perfect. The sun was shining, the water was crystal clear, and he was surrounded by the people he loved most in the world.

He knew today would be a wonderful day.

"Whatchu reading?" Plopping next to his friend, small water drops crashed on the pages of Rosalie's book.

She groaned and shoved his face away. "Careful! Your hair is still wet and you're damaging the page."

He chuckled and grabbed a towel behind him, proceeding to dry his brown locks. "Sorry, sorry. So?"

"The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I'm at page 152."
