The silence of the space surrounding her grew more intense as Jenova laid in her bed staring up at the ceiling. The bright light brought her nausea as usual so she forced her attention to go elsewhere. She turned to her left, this time to look at her bland walls meeting eyes with the one wall that held a single photo of her "family" and frowned to herself turning to look at the other wall. She had specifically told them upon arrival that she wanted no reminders of who her family was, especially someone like her father who made her who she is in that moment. However to no surprise, they completely disregarded her wants as the picture still hung proudly out of reach.

There wasn't much that she could do in her room but draw and hope that they'd one day release her to at least hang out with the other patients, but the chances of that were slim considering the fact that they deemed her to be a threat to other patients even though some of them were there for the same thing.

The reasoning behind her being locked in a room in a psych ward for the past eleven years were quite simple, she had committed a murder alongside an attempted murder but she was too young for prison. She was seven years old at the time of the acts, of course they weren't going to put her in prison. She was "unstable" and "clinically insane" as the court argued in her defense which led to her placement in her new disliked home. In actuality, she was a victim, a victim trying to save her victim but she was too late.

The night of the murders replayed in her head every other weekend of the time she fatally stabbed her father and his best friend whose mind was corrupted with sick fantasies. She was often sedated under heavy medications which altered her mind whilst her dad stripped her to her bare bottom in efforts to capture photos of her innocence. Her father's best friend was the manager of a big company who fantasized often about touching the "silky smooth skin" of her young torso but he knew he couldn't do that so pictures worked perfectly for him. He'd offer her father amounts he refused to turn down and set up photoshoots to feed his sick thoughts. The photos became more and more graphic and when the police arrived, they could not believe what they had witnessed. She sat with her legs drenched in her own dried blood seeping down to her toes after a photoshoot had gone wrong and his best friend did more than touch her. Her father of course continued to allow the sick man to violate her frame whilst he kept look out for her mom who had just arrived home. She recalled hearing her mother speak in the hall but the drug dosage in her system was entirely too high to allow her to form words.

Her mother was  a hard worker who loved her daughter and made sure it was known that family was always first in her eyes-- it was always first. She worked overtime so much to the point that she slept in the hospital where she worked, which worked perfectly in her father's favor as it allowed the space to allow for income without having to work a real job. She recalled hearing the last time her mother had spoke as she pushed past her father wondering why he was holding the door shut.  She always kissed Jenova good night when she was home, always, so this was very confusing for her. She opened the door to see her daughter laying incomprehensible to what had just happened to her, but before she could properly react, the shots of the gun pierced Jenova's ears as she witnessed the four bullets fly through her chest. It was almost as if her mother was made from cotton rather than the hard figure she once knew her as. It was almost as if for the first time, for the first real time despite everything that had happened to Jenova, she had finally saw him for the monster he was and used the little strength she had to commit an act she could never take back.

She sighed as she stood to her feet and adjusted the attire she had on before taking a glance up at the camera which was to the upper corner of her room. She remember when they installed the camera after a failed suicide attempt due to extreme loneliness. They kept her in her room a majority of the day and let her out when it was time for everyone else to return to their rooms, and watched her in hopes that one day she'd slip up and talk. She didnt. She rolled her eyes and stuck up the middle finger knowing that Mrs. Richards, the one who called for keeping her isolated was watching through the camera. They treated her as if she was some sort of experiment waiting to see when she'd heal from what she went through, but it wasn't exactly the easiest when they too kept her drugged up.
