Throwing the empty bag on the floor to be picked up later, the pair continued to watch the movie. Soon the movie was over and their bowls empty again.
"Dinner is ready girls!" The woman called out from the kitchen, Enid and Wednesday looked at each other, not feeling very hungry.
They jumped off the bed, rushing to the kitchen either way. Racing each other to the dining table.
"I win!" Wednesday said as she vibrated in her seat.
"Nuh uh!" Enid argued, "I grabbed my seat first!" Wednesday shook her head, "Nope, I'm faster than you!"
"Let's race again then!" Wednesday stood up from her seat, standing next to Enid. The werewolf little followed suit, "Around the table three times then we'll both see who is faster!"
"Fine, but you'll see I'm the fastest." Enid shrugged, standing shoulder to shoulder with Wednesday. "Three, two, one go!" She started off as soon as she finished counting, almost tripping the goth.
Marilyn was walking out of the kitchen to the dining table when the pair blurred past her. "Whoa, slow down girls'! I didn't think I gave you that much sugar."
The littles glanced at each other, Wednesday letting out a quick giggle before they resumed their race. They went once, twice, almost three times around the counter.
Just as Wednesday was about to beat Enid by rounding the corner before her, she halted and clutched at her stomach.
"Ooooh..." She whimpered, looking up at Marilyn for help. The redhead crouched down next to her, taking her hands in her own.
"What's wrong, sweetie? Are you dizzy?"
The room was spinning for Wednesday as she turned her head to the side and emptied her stomach onto the wooden floor. She coughed and spluttered, watching as Enid backed away in horror. Whilst the werewolf was alright with cleaning spit up, vomit with chunks of gummy bears in it was more than enough to send her away. She gagged, but not for the same reason, her werewolf senses making it unbearable to be in the room.
"Enid go to the bathroom, now." Marilyn rushed her little before her own vomit could cover the floor. Enid rushed, closing the door behind her. Leaning down, she picked up a crying Wednesday. "Maybe giving you sugar wasn't the best idea."
"Mm sorry!" Wednesday cried, rubbing her face into Marilyn's baggy shirt. "I didn't mean to."
"It's alright, Wed's. Let's wipe you down and change into your pj's." The goth girl nodded, sniffing into the woman. "Did you eat Enid's portion too? That was a lot more than I gave you..."
Wednesday bit her lip, unsure how to answer. Before she could open her mouth, Enid came out of the restroom.
"I didn't throw up," She managed to get out as she dashed into her bedroom, closing the door behind her to keep the smell out. Marilyn decided to try again with her question.
"Did you eat more candy? Maybe you ate some of Enid's."
"Secret..." Wednesday sniffled, refusing to make eye contact with the redhead. Cupping her chin, Thornhill stroked her cheek with the pad of her thumb.
"I won't be angry, I promise."
"Um. Me and Enid-"
"DON'T SAY ANYTHING!" Enid opened her door quickly to yell at her friend before shutting it again.
"Don't listen to my daughter."
"We ate some extra candy..."
Eventually, Marilyn had managed to piece together the whole story from Wednesday's broken answers. As she'd said, she wasn't angry, but she was definitely disappointed.
Changing the girl into her nightgown, Marylin sat her down at the dinner table.
"Now, you don't have to eat anything right now, but I know you will be hungry later."
"Are you going to tell my Mama?"
"No, but you can't eat that much candy again, okay? I'm going to have a talk with Enid about giving you food without me or your mama around though."
Wednesday nodded, wiping her nose on the back of her arm. Marylin grabbed a roll of paper towels and a soap bucket. Wednesday watched as the woman cleaned up her sickness.
"Should I help?" Wednesday asked, feeling guilty. Her stomach was still turning, but she was feeling better by the second.
"It's okay, darling. I need to clean this before I can get Enid out of her room."
"Why?" Wednesday cocked her head.
"She's afraid of vomit, isn't that silly." Marilyn said as she scrubbed the floor with soap, "When she was in the facility it would often happen around her. Being a werewolf her senses are heightened, so it smells ten times worse to her."
"Oh." The gothic little shrugged her shoulders. "I guess that's fair. The same thing happened at the facility where I was."
Finishing the cleaning, Marilyn tugged Wednesday in for a sideways hug, kissing the side of her head. She was secretly pleased when the little didn't flinch or pull away.
"Enid, you can come out now! It's cleannnnn!" Wednesday danced around the apartment, spinning in circles. Thornhill prayed that it wouldn't make her vomit again. She watched as her daughter's bedroom door slowly opened, and a blonde mop of curls peeked out with a worried expression.
"Hiiii... mommy?"
"Hi, sweetie. Come here."
Enid rushed out of the room, running into Marilyn's open arms, hiding her face in her neck.
"I'm sorry," she cried, tears falling into her caregiver's red hair.
"Next time, tell me if you give Wednesday any sweets. You're not in any trouble, but you need to keep me in the loop when I look after her, okay? You know she isn't the healthiest child."
Enid looked over at the goth who was laying on the floor, having fallen over from spinning so much. She noticed she was giggling, enjoying the dizzy feeling now that it was on purpose. "You're right, but I really am sorry mommy. Besides, she's feeling better now!"
"Which is great, but be careful alright? Now, go on and play while I reheat dinner." Marilyn gave a playful swat on Enid's behind, making her giggle.
