'They hate us.'
Dae didn't know who said it, Imeda or the rabbit she was petting.
It was very cute, maybe that was why it was seldom left alone by the children on the farm. It was why Dae had pleaded with his parents to wait for his turn. But now he wasn't that excited anymore.
'They hate us.'
Dae was sure the second time he heard it, that it wasn't Imelda. It really had been the rabbit.
'They hurt me.'
It was a plea of help, one that was left ignored.
