Chapter 5: My first date

As we are walking i see nice furnitures, nice and fancy paintings. Everyting looks facy.

I stopped walking when i saw a vase with pink tulips. I remember eomma putting those flowers in beautiful vase whenever we had an occassion on our house back then. It make me feel sad at the moment making me missed her again. I look down.

Minji? Are you ok? Whats wrong. I hear ayi.

I look up and see that they are about to enter the room waiting for me.

I took a last glance to the flowers and followed them.

I was surprised at the room when qe entered. It is their family dining room.

It is a room with a very long table. The one that i see on the movies, the kind of table qhere the king and queen eats. A lot of food is on the table and it really looks so delicious that i want to taste them all. It makes my mouth hanging with saliva almost coming out of my mouth.

Have a seat. Mr. Lu speak up.

I just follow where ayi is seated and i sat behind her.

Two maids are assisting us.

Two child came running and hugged mr. Lu. Followed by a couple maybe in their 40s. They really look like executives based on what they are wearing. They kissed mrs. Lu.

Ayi and i stand up and greeted them.

They smiled back at us.

Some one also went to the dining holding a big cake and singing happy birthday cheerfully. (In mandarin vesion)

They really look a simple and happy family. I can see that mr. Lu is so happy as well as mrs. Lu.

Oh look who we got in here. Guests.

Ni jiao shen me ming zi? It is the first time seeing you with us.

~im minji. Nice to meet you.

Ayi just smiled at us.

call me chai. As she put out a hand shake from me.

Lets start our lunch since everyone arrived. Mrs lu suggested.

We started our lunch.

It really looks like a food heaven for me. Ive never had a fancy lunch like this ever. As i am eating i am simply took glance on each one of them.

They dress simply but i bet those dress cost thousands of money that only upper class people can afford.

Mr. Lu. Hes tall and handsome. Not that skinny but not also fat. He had this well toned body built. He is old but you can tell that he is still strong. Maybe due to his previous work. He preserved that healthy body.

Mrs. Lu. You can tell that maybe shes always had a check up on derma having that beautiful skin in despite of her age. She still dress nicely and i like her taste on her jewelries. She eats like a pro. I mean like a queen.

On the other side of the table is the first daughter and his husband with their 2 children. They are very well off family. Of course they will be. Have owned a five star hotel. Just wow.

On our side is the second daughter. The one who greeted us earlier. Her birthday is today. She look so simple. I like her dress that shes wearing and i cant believe that she is turning 33. Well thats based on the numbers above her cake.

The last daughter chai. One look and you can tell that shes really smart. I guess based on the eye glass that shes wearing. Shes very welcoming and i feel that if we will have time together again we can be good friends.

I almost tasted a lot of authentic chinese cuisine today. I ate a lot while they just tasted a very few. Maybe because they can eat that kind of food anytime they want unlike me having it for the first time.

I just remained silent after we eat.

Ayi and the rest of the family talk a little. Im not really good at mandarin so i dont have an idea in what they are talking.

Chai smiled at me.

I smiled back.

She hold my hand and invited me to their garden.

I look at ayi first and she nodded so we go outside.

The guard opened up the door for us.

I just look at her for a while.

We went on the side of the garden where i can clearly see my room.

Nice to meet you here minji.

She chuckles. Can we be friends?

~of course i want to chai.

~may i ask where you will be going?

States. Ill be having my internship.

Mayne not too long but it depends.

~oh. Thats nice.

We shared some stories and i insisted to have a selca together. She agreed but reminded me to not upload it on my accounts and to just save it for private purposes only.

Its almost dark when ayi told me that we will be leaving.

I bid my farewell to the family as well as to chai. My new friend. I dont know what ayi talked to the other family member but i really enjoy my time with chain.

We walk to our house and surprised that uncle chen already cooked food for us.
