Chapter 17

Zach's POV:

"Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on him?" tayo ko sa aking upuan nang marinig ang balitang ibinahagi sa akin ni Alfonso. 

"He just disappeared without a clue—"

"What do you mean, 'without a clue'? You're not messing this up on purpose, aren't you?" I cut Alfonso off. Anong pinagsasabi niyang without a clue? That's only possible kung hindi niya isinagawa ng maayos ang binigay ko sa kanyang trabaho.

"Alfonso, you might have forgotten something. And I think I've reminded you countless times already that you'll rot somewhere worse than jail if you fail to do what I'm asking." paalala ko sa kanya. 

"My boys are looking for him right now. Rest assured that we will find him in no time—"

"You better should. Don't let him out of the country, or you'll face the consequences. I am not communicating with you right now; this is a warning." I cut him off again. "Update me within the day," I added, then hung up the phone.

Me and my brother Zane captured Zethus right away nang malaman na nito na alam ko na ang mga plano nila Alfonso. Of course, bago niya malaman ay mas nauna si Alfonso. Basically, we threatened Alfonso when I asked him to see me that time at the hospital. I told him that I could kick him out of my Dad's company, at malalaman ng lahat ang ginawa niya at ng kakambal ko. I threatened him na he'll be blacklisted sa lahat ng pag aapplyan niyang trabaho and that I'll make sure na hindi na siya makakabangon pa sa lahat ng ginawa niya sa akin. I told him as well that he'll never rot in jail because I'll bury him alive. With all the threats I told him, I asked him to do something for me, and in exchange, he'll get to stay at the company if he remained loyal and didn't mess things up. At sa oras naman na hindi niya isinatupad ang aming naging usapan ay sisiguraduhin kong walang mintis na mangyayari sa kanya ang lahat ng banta ko.

We captured Zethus and he had been under Alfonso's watch all this time kasi kailangan namin umuwi ng Pilipinas ni Zane eventually. We can't do something with him habang buhay pa ang aming ama. And just now, tinawagan ako ni Alfonso to update me na biglang nawawala si Zethus when he was supposed to be locked up. Kaya umiinit ang ulo ko ngayon.

I don't want that man near Charlotte again. EVER. He took her from me, messed up her life, played, and hurt her feelings.  

I'd risk it all to protect Charlotte from anything that could hurt her. I will not let anyone. 

Sa 2 months na nasa US ako, Zane helped me with everything. I started from zero.

"Wait. What? This is so messed up! So you're telling me that your wife, this woman... " turo ko sa litrato ng isang babae na may kasamang tatlong bata na pinapakilala sa akin ni Zane na asawa niya.

"... was my ex-fiancée?! You were dating her before, you broke up, and years later, she got engaged to me? I almost became the father of her two children?" litong-lito kong bomba ng tanong sa kanya. Sabi niya hindi nag work 'yong engagement namin ng asawa niya kasi mahal pa raw nila ang isa't-isa and it was more like a fixed engagement.

"Tapos, this dude right here... What's his name again? David?" turo ko naman sa isa pang larawan kung saang may lalaki na matangkad na may katabing babae na akala mo ay everyday christmas sa suot nitong bestida na parang Christmas lights. Nakakasilaw, sakit sa mata.

"Dave, Zach. Ugh." Zane reacted, pagod na siya kaka-remind sa akin. Dave nga pala, palagi ko kasing natatawag na David. 

"Yeah, Dave. So, he's been your wife's best friend for more than a decade now, and he has liked her for about 15 years or less before meeting the woman beside her in this picture that turned out to be my first and love and your ex-girlfriend?" hindi ko makapaniwalang tanong. Totoo ba 'tong lahat na lumalabas sa bibig ko?
