"I'm exhausted!" Ethan said while we were leaving the magnificent laboratory.
"Me too." I replied to him.
"And we even have a review tomorrow! I mean come on! It's Saturday!" He angrily shouted.
"Well enjoy your Friday! I'll be going now."
"Bye! See ya!"
I headed to our classroom. I watched students hurrying to go out of the school to enjoy their Friday going out with friends. Me on the other hand would like to spend my day reading. Well, even though I want to go home now, I can't. We still have classes after lunch. It's unfortunate though.
Our class is one of the three sections who is in the Department of Education's Special Program for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Which is looked up by every regular student in our campus because of it's reputation. Reputation of being Excellent. I'm not smart at all. I just happened to pass the entrance exam for this place.
Wherever you go, everyone expects more of you.
I sat on my chair, hearing my stomach rumble. "I should eat" I thought to myself.
I placed my folder full of hand-outs on my desk, pulled out the container that contained my "lunch" cooked earlier this morning. What's on the menu today? Corned Beef and Eggs. Again. Great.
"Kylie! Elaine! Let's have lunch now shall we?" I shouted at the already noisy classroom.
"Maybe later Max! I'm finishing my Excel Project!" Kylie replied.
"Me too!" Elaine shouted back.
"What?! You're still not finished? It was due like, yesterday!"
Not really surprised. It was a routine here. They would send projects due for almost a week.
"Well we're not like you! You mastered the IF Function pretty quickly you know!" Kylie said not taking her eyes away from the keyboard.
"If you really want lunch then... do it for us!" Elaine said as she handed the laptop to me.
"Please Max! I beg you! Please I want lunch now!" Kylie practically begged me like I'm some kind of saint or something.
"Well food thing you guys are bribing me with the best item we have which is food. I'll do it, after we have our lunch."
They jumped out of their seats. They look like kids going to Disney Land.
A while later, we were walking to the canteen. Yesterday suddenly came to mind. It bugged me until now.
Why was Lucy crying? Why did Adam destroy our classroom? Why did Ma'am call them? Are they really in a relationship?
Nobody talked about it. Which confuses me. Gossip spread really fast around these areas.
The way to the canteen was as usual. I never wanted to eat there. It's too far. The only thing I liked is that I can see that person everyday. The one with the red backpack. The one I adore.
We sat down at our usual table. We were starting to eat until Rex appeared.
"Rex!" I waved at him.
"Hey!" He came closer to us.
"I have something to tell you guys."
"OK sit down." Kylie said while putting her hand on my lap. Why... Oh..
"There you go." I handed her my fork. For some reason, she doesn't bring any spoon or fork so she borrows mine. Which was fine for me. I never use my fork.
"Promise me you guys will never say a thing to Lucy or Adam."
"Yes. We'll keep our mouths shut."
"It's what happened to them. Specifically, what happened yesterday."
