"Do you know English anymore?" Larissa asked as she took a sip of her own smoothie. Wednesday tilted the bottle sideways, spilling a little. "Careful." She reminded, as she pushed it back up. The little giggled, confirming that she did in fact understand English. Once she'd finished her smoothie, Wednesday put the bottle down on her tray with a loud bang.

"Wednesday, don't be so boisterous."

"Por que "boisterous"?" The girl asked, tilting her head. Weems' eyes widened. She was far from an expert, but that certainly wasn't German anymore. She'd taken a couple of languages back when she was at school and could kind of recognise Spanish.

"Okay. My little polyglot. Come here, you."

Wednesday giggled as her caregiver scooped her up and twirled her around, careful not to make her too dizzy, lest the smoothie make a reappearance.

"Mama, parar!"

Putting the little on her hip, Weems kissed the girl's forehead.

"Can you speak some English for Mama?"

"Est-ce que je parle anglais?"

"Not quite, darling."

"Che ne dici di adesso?"

"Definitely not English. Try again, baby."

"Iz dos beser."

"Come on, Wednesday. English."

"Men mamma, jag förstår inte! Eller, jo, jag förstår, men jag vet inte vad du menar... Hur svårt kan det vara? Snälla, mamma. Kan du hjälpa? Varför kan inte DU alla olika språk."

Running a hand down her face, Larissa just stared at her daughter. How many languages did she just rapid fire? "Wednesday. I can't understand a single thing you just said to me."

Wednesday smiled widely, giving grippy hands to the woman. Larissa sighed, at least she doesn't need words to understand body language.

"Du hast mich." Wednesday said as she grabbed onto the woman's shoulders.

"Do you want a nap?"

Wednesday nodded, laying her head down. The woman walked them to the couch in the living room, laying them down. "If you need something, wake me, okay?"

"Ja." She replied sleepy. Closing her eyes, she let out a sigh. Larissa trailed her hands through the top of the goths head, content with just laying there. Soon she also went to the realm of sleep.

"Are you an imbecile?" Morticia asked, hitting the back of Wednesday's hand with a ruler. The girl held back a whimper as she tried not to let the tears spill from her eyes.

"I-I'm sorry..."

"Again."

"Eins, zwei, drei, vier, fünf, sechs, acht, sie-"

The ruler came down hard on her knuckles, making her wince audibly.

"Oh I'm sorry, is it my fault you're so bad at counting? This is for babies."

Wednesday closed her eyes.

"Sechs, sieben, acht, neun, zehn. Ist das gut, Mutter?"

"Nein. Dein Bruder kann schon bis 100 zählen." Wednesday stared blankly at her, not willing to admit that she had no clue what was just said to her. Morticia raised her hand again to hit the girl, but suddenly Larissa was standing there, holding the woman's arm back.

"Mama!" Wednesday cheered, happy as she watched the shapeshifter in all white beat the daylights out of the dark woman.

Weems woke up to the feeling of Wednesday's small legs kicking against her thighs. She reached over to turn the lamp on, finding that the girl was fast asleep with tears running down her cheeks, but a small smile was visible on her lips.

"Wednesday? Wake up, darling." She murmured, pressing her lips against the girl's forehead. The littles eyelids fluttered and her eyes were blank for a moment until her gaze focused on Larissa.

"Mama?" Wednesday muttered, rubbing her eyes. She was surprised for a second to find the tears on her face, until she remembered the dream she'd been having. The thought of Weems beating up her birth mother made her feel better, and she nuzzled her face into the shapeshifter's chest.

"My Mama." Larissa smiled fondly, until she realised that her daughter was back to speaking English.

"Wednesday! You spoke English!"

"I speak English." Wednesday yawned, tugging at the shapeshifters' sleep shirt. "Milk, mama."

"Feeling better, baby?" Larissa asked, as she unbuttoned her blouse, "Does your bump hurt?"

Wednesday didn't say anything, opting to rearrange herself on the woman's lap. When Larissa removed her shirt, Wednesday laid back. Weems helped the girl get a good latch, as she herself leaned back. Reaching over to the side table, she took the remote and turned on the afternoon news.

"A child found just outside the woods here in Jericho who is in critical condition. She has been identified as Susy May-" Larissa turned off the television, taking note of the photo they used, it was the girl from the playground. She looked down at the girl, making eye contact for a moment, she could feel the smirk on her littles mouth.

"Don't look so happy." Larissa held a bemused smile. "Nobody deserves to get hurt." She was lying to herself. Maybe Wednesday was rubbing off on her, just a little bit.

The girl flexed her healed hand, before laying it on the woman's shoulder.

Wiping off any stray milk and drool, she sat the girl up, patting her back. She heard the girl burp quietly, pulling back to face herself. Wednesday's face was bright, smiling happily.

"Full now?"

Wednesday raised her fist, moving it up and down. Before doing some hand gestures, and raising an eyebrow.

Larissa face palmed, "Are we doing this again?" Wednesday nodded. "You're lucky you're so stinking cute."

Wednesday giggled, signing something before running towards the playroom.
