WELCOME

INTRO : hello this is "the lady of the jade palace" lengthy title I know, also known as the "palace jade" I couldn't bare to pick between either title so I will be referencing as either or. I know this is drastically different from what I normally do, but this is my work, mine mine mine, so discretion is advised, it may not be perfect, but I want to be a writer and build worlds from my own hand and so this is it, welcome to my own piece of historical fiction with a mix of fantasy. The events of this story are purely fictional including the names of the kingdoms/empires or dynasties

Face claims, for the most important individuals such as the "Emperor", "crown princes" and "princesses" have already been chosen to truly immerse you in this experience, (I am really big on aesthetic) Chinese actors from dramas who I thought would really fit the roles of these characters. This story takes place in ancient China, set somewhere during the northern and southern dynasties, also known as the six dynasties and sixteen kingdoms while the clothing inspiration takes reference from both the tang dynasty and the north/southern era as well as the Ming dynasty (nothing in this is historically accurate). We have the northern empire which in this story is located in the country of Yan (northern Yan) home to the Northern Wei dynasty lead by ruler Wei Boqin and the southern empire located in Song, aka the southern Li dynasty lead by Emperor Li Teng Fei, home to our protagonist.. where our story begins

The protagonist/ main character does not have one particular face claim but when I do think of her I somewhat see sza, Halle Bailey and other elements of other women so when a face of her does pop up I warn you it may change from time to time, but I've kept it inbetween two of my models, K and G since it is much easier (you'll find out what that means eventually when I'm bothered to explain in further detail) when creating images to match the story but you can imagine her in whatever form you'd like

There is also a compact file of all the characters who will be mentioned in this book with the basics, what chapter they appear in, age, affiliation and a general summary of who they are, at a certain point I will release it either the beginning or the middle of this story once I believe enough of the content had been covered (as it may contain spoilers, maybe)

DISCLAIMER : this is for a mature audience, and yes the main character of this tale is a black woman "blasian" If you will, in case you have yet to know. There will be elements of racism, bullying, sexual themes etc, I've mustered up the plot of every single Chinese drama that I have ever watched (which is A LOT) mixing every single element and aspect, to bring this piece of work to life, I want my audience to think of this as a real c-drama, so yes it may get a little twisted here and there, and the wait may be long and yes the plot twists will be enormous and may seem ridiculous at certain points and yes this will be agonisingly slow (because I really want to convey all my characters) and YES you will get frustrated so you have been warned because this will be a long ride.

I hope you like the official cast
I think I kinda ate

Other than that please enjoy
honestly I worked hard on this 💋 x .

THE WRITING DISPLAYED IN THIS
BOOK BELONGS TO ME ©️

one more thing the events which take place in this story as well as characters and kingdom names are purely fictional, simply inspired by real life events and the many wonderful aspects of Chinese culture

now sit back and relax!

(From today 1st July 24' this story will now be known as the lady of the orchid garden
, I think it's fitting, do you?)
