I cant help it, a laugh comes bursting out of me. Connor answers, as if it's a simple fact. "I was made to work harmoniously with humans. My entire look and design is made to present itself as a friend, peaceful. A good partner."

"Well they fucked up."

"Hank!" I yell. "That is so mean!"

His hands shoot up in the air, "Am I wrong?" I yell at him, my arms slamming against the table. "YES! He does not have a goofy voice! If anything, have you heard yourself? Not to mention your gray, long ass Keanu Reeves hair!"

The last part makes him laugh, but he quickly gets offended. "At least I don't have a massive LED in the side of my head."

"Maybe it would be easier to be friends with you if you did, because you suck at showing your emotions! At least I can tell somewhat what he is feeling."

Connors pov-

I watch the two argue, and I can't help but feel a smile smile enter my face. Anderson pushes Y/N, "Okay. It's not like your much better at showing your emotions."

Y/N only gives him a side eye. Hank groans, "Fine you win."

Y/N pulls her arm in the air, swinging it back down in a sense of victory. "Yes!"

I feel a little proud myself. No one has ever defended me before like that, only Y/N does it. It gives me a little bit of pride. A feeling of acceptance.

She giggles, taking another bite of her food. I notice her demeanor changes, going from an almost bored, tired sense to a happy, proud one.

She turns to me. "Oh, another question. Can you eat food?"

"Yes," I respond. "I can eat. It's dissolves in my system, instead of having a digestive system like humans do. It does not provide any benefit to me, but I am able to do it."

"Ooooh, can you taste?"

"Yes."

Y/n giggles again, clearly pleased. She pushes her hoodie back up to her body, the fabric still drooping. She scrunches her hair, getting some of the water out of it.

She eats her food, simply ending her questionare. Hank stares at her, expecting more. When there is no more, he shrugs and continues eating.

After a few seconds of silence, Y/N asks, "Do you have anything you want to know about us?"

My mind spirals, circling through my millions of questions. "Is there a particular reason you despise me?" I ask. Obviously a little more directed towards Lieutenant Anderson, he sighs. "I have my reasons."

His explanation ends there, and Y/N sits expectantly. I turn to face her, and her eyebrows go up slightly. I ask her something i've wondered for quite awhile, "What's your dream job?"

Her eyes seem to flicker, surprised. Her lips part, lost in thought. "I.. I'm not really sure. Why do you ask?"

"You just don't seem very happy in the environment your in, your good at it, but you don't seem to really enjoy the life of criminal work."

She looks up at me, her eyes somber. "Huh. I guess so... I just want a life where there is peace. Friends that I can trust, a nice home with nature surrounding us, but not far from the city. I still want to be really close to the city, so I can venture and go do fun things. I want someone to enjoy the small moments with me," Her eyes slide away, like a calm river. "Someone who truly loves me, and I love them. I want animals, a dog who is silly and full of fun. Maybe even a reptile, to add a bit of exotic spice." She grins, "I want a car that actually works properly." She sighs, "Oh! And I want a big flower field too!! I want to be able to lay in it, swing in those fun bench things and feels the grass, catch ladybugs." Her smile grows, passionate. For a moment I forget we are sitting in front of a lousy burger place in the middle of a sad, bustling city.

"I don't care what I work as." She says, finalizing her answer. "I just want to be able to come home to what I love."

Silence surrounds us for a moment, but Hank let's out a small laugh. "Yeah, me too. If only."

"Hey, maybe we could be neighbors!"

"Okay fine then, who's gonna be your little husband?" Hank asks, smiling inquisitively. She seems giddy, "If I could choose out of anyone.. Oh I know! Have you seen Johnny Depp from the like.. 1980s?? I know that was forever ago, but look it up. I know he is ancient now, but oh my lordy."

Hank sighs, "Unlike you, I'm old. I know what he looked like."

She laughs, "Oh, sorry old man. Forgot." She takes a sip of her drink, which Hank only stares. Clearly annoyed.

"What about you?" Y/N asks, and Hank only rolls his eyes. "That's weird for me to say. I'm too old to be getting into all that again."

She groans, clearly wanting a better answer. "Fine." She turns to me, "What about you?"

The question stuns me. "I- I don't know."

"Come oooon! There's gotta be some like, mega hot robot out there."

I feel my smile fade. "No, no android comes to mind."

"See," She complains, "I told you to go to one of those android clubs. You gotta spice up your life somehow."

Hank practically spits out his drink. "Excuse me?!?"

Y/N laughs. "Yeah, he refuses to go to an android club. Like, how? That sounds like so much fun!"

Hank widens his eyes. "He is a robot."

Y/N bends forward slightly, looking clueless. "And? We all gotta get some kind of love sprinkled into our life somehow."

If androids could cry, I would be right now. This is so incredibly weird. In my whole two months of living I have never been so uncomfortable.

"God, Y/N, that's disgusting!"
"How else is he supposed to? There's not anyone at the office, is there? Oh, sorry. I forgot. Gavin is a hot catch."
"That is not what I meant!"
"What about Chris?"

She turns to me, "Chris isn't bad." Hank sighs. "Chris has a wife."

Y/N drops her jaw, clearly forgetting. "Oh shit. Yeah, sorry Connor. Chris is off the table. Ugh, that could have been so cute. Like, C + C!!"

I swallow the lump resting in my throat. "I am not exactly sure if that is the kind of relationship I would want."

She sighs, "Well, one day you might change your mind. It's okay to venture out."

Hank only gives her a blank stare.

"Okay fine." She mutters. "Who else??" I see a small smile entire Hanks face, but as soon as Y/N points it out, he shuts it down.

"What?? You clearly know someone. You can't leave him hanging like that! He still has some years left in him, unlike you."

"Just because you said that i'm not saying it."

I feel the drizzle of rain begin to calm down against my back. A small ray of sun splashes our skin.

"Your lame Hank."

He only rolls his eyes.

I try my best to stop this whole thing, "It's not exactly in my programming to have an intimate relationship such as that."

"Well, God created us to live forever and happily." She says, her eyes slimming down, nose crinkled. "But look where we are now? Sometimes stuff turns out in a way it wasn't originally programmed to."

The words stick to me, and I am left thinking over them.

She continues, "What's the worst that could happen? I mean, you have the benefit of not having to deal with asshole humans. Maybe you'll have better luck then we did." She points back and forth between herself and the lieutenant. He slaps her hand away.

I try to add a positive note, "Well you said I still have plenty of time. That means you do, too."

She only looks up at me, silent for a few seconds before responding. "I really don't think i'm gonna try that out again for awhile."

I tilt my head to her, my eyebrows furrowing. "But it's like you said.....

What's the worst that could happen?"
