I almost tell him to kill himself.
Instead, I manage a sigh and roll my eyes once more.
I see a woman and a child, hiding behind an umbrella. They turn away from the police patrolling. Hank walks across from me and Connor, talking to Chris. I whisper to Connor, "You see that?"
He suddenly stands a little taller. "Yes.. I do." I turn to him, "Stay here. If she sees an android, she's gonna freak out. I'm just gonna walk past and see if she has a model number on her chest."
I speed up, trying to catch up to her. The child frantically looks around, the woman continues to hide her face. I catch up, and tap on the woman's shoulder. "Ma'am?"
I see a look of panic arise on her face. Her grip tightens on her child.
"Don't mind me asking, but is this your child? You look a little young to have a kid." She only chuckles awkwardly, her short hair moving in the wind. "Yes, of course. This is Alic- Alexandra."
I laugh, "Sorry, I just thought I recognized her. I was afraid you snatched her up!"
The woman laughs along with me, clearly uncomfortable.
I look down at her outfit, but a jacket covers her chest. Human? Perhaps I misjudged her. The child looks comfortable with her...
I smile, walking back toward Connors direction. "Have a good day... ma'am."
With no evidence of a deviant, even running into a very suspicious pair, we have to leave the scene.
I would say i'm disappointed, but I get to have Gary's burgers. So i'm pretty alright.
By the time I get in my car, I have to brush my hair out with my fingers. Tangled and wet, my hair sticks to my face. My body is wet as well, my hoodie sinking down a little from the weight of the water. I groan, turning on my engine.
I arrive at Gary's, Hank already ordering.
After he is done with his order, I get mine. A simple burger with fries and a lemonade. I walk over to the table that Connor and Hank stand at, practically collapsing my head against it.
Tired, I sigh and spring my body back up.
Hank is about to take a bite before Connor intervenes. "That burger has 1.4 times the amount of calories recommended for a meal, as well as abnormal amounts of cholesterol." He shakes his head, "You shouldn't eat that."
Hank glances at me, unsure of an answer. I contemplate for a moment, before deciding. "There's a lot of things that could kill me. Alcohol, cars, my job. I think i'm pretty okay with a burger being my death."
Hank laughs at my response. Connor only sinks, resting his arms against the table. I take a bite, finally tasting all of the grease and salt.
Yeah, this is definitely unhealthy.
Hank practically eats half of the burger in one bite.
Trying to carry on a conversation, Connor asks, "So, is there anything you would like to know about me?"
Curious, I think for a moment. Hank quickly answers, "No."
I punch him, "Okay dick. Speak for yourself." I think for a moment longer, "How long have you been.." I look Connor up and down. "Alive..?"
He answers, "Only about one or two months. It's sort of hard to tell time in between my deaths."
I nod, my question satisfied. Hank talks, his eyes going wide. "No, I have one. Why the hell do you have such a weird looking face and a goofy voice?"
