As all societies, there's a social system used for countryhumans, although it's not really official and rather just a natural thing.
So in this fictional social pyramid we have at the top organizations! They have their own chapter but to summarize they are all-powerful, freakish beings.

After them we have countries/countryhumans, they're the personifications of nations and *mostly* what this book is all about.

Behind them we've got capitals, who serve as secretaries/assistants to the countries. They are the only cuties to be personified, and will probably get their own chapter later on tbh

After that are states, provinces, regions, etc. They represent mini-sections of the country, and most of them air either their parent country's siblings or children.

And the lowest are colonies, with only a few of them left. They were treated as inferior by everyone, and seen as such. (Not promoting this because colonialism is gross but this does reflect how a lot of European colonies viewed their colonies in history.)

The native personifications (ex: Māori or Choctaw) fit in there somewhere, probably above capitals but definitely above states.
