As I walk gracefully down the stairs, with my hand slowly and delicately touching the banister: everyone turns to stare at me. Not even a pin drop could be heard.

Naturally, my throat closes up slightly because even though I'd had all eyes on me before, I was still quite nervous because I hadn't attended any balls or galas for a few weeks. But, from the mixed reactions of others facial expressions; here's what I can tell you.

King Zeddlo's face is that of stone, his eyes seem to have shrunk back into his skull as he glares at me with hate and a little confusion on his face. He expects me to follow the rules like the rest of them, in fear of the aristocracy and what they could do to me.

The queens face just shows disgust because: who could be so selfish as to ruin the prince and princesses birthday?! Oh, that's right: me. I was doing this partly for Odette because if I kept rebelling, they'd want to keep me in an orderly fashion and give me what I want, and that exactly how rebellion works!

Both twins look ecstatic, their eyes shine brightly and their grins almost reach their foreheads; they love that I rebel and don't give a shit about what other people think. I need to remember to give them their presents.

Ava's lip is turned up at the corner, her cheeks sucked in as she bites her tongue in frustration. She thinks she destroyed me by trashing my dress, I don't care so much for materialistic things anymore: though I was slightly saddened by it. Her arms are crossed so tightly that her tits have moved up a whole few inches, attracting the attention of some young noblemen.

And then there was Axel, Axel who looked so dashing in his white suit that I could hardly breath. With the buttons slightly undone at the top and his black hair a frizzy mop on his head, I decided that maybe... just maybe I would let him in again.

"Please, enjoy the party, I don't want to cause a distraction for anyone," I say calmly. Everyone reluctant turns back to speaking with each other as I weave carefully in and out of the groups. Reaching Brone, I pull out his necklace and give it to him; pulling him in for a hug as he gushes over how much he loved it and that he would wear it everyday. Ariella squeals at her own present, giving me a light peck on the cheek, making me blush slightly.

As I leave them, the queen is suddenly by my side as I walk to the buffet.

"What the hell do you think your doing?!" She growls lowly, " this is not the time for your games Jade, I would ask you to change but since your so fashionably late: don't bother."

After her amazing speech, I make myself at home at a lone table; with piles of food on my plate as my only company. I couldn't complain really: this dress was amazing though it was a little hard to sit down in.

After an hour of gorging myself on the food and drinks, I down my third class of champagne and sniffle slightly. People still give me the odd glance at my odd outfit, but you know: who gives a damn? Not me.

A loud cough can be heard behind me as I slowly turn around to see Axel of all people standing there. "You look beautiful tonight," he smiles gently, holding out his hand for me to take.

"Would you care to dance?" he asks. My breath hitches and I nod slowly, taking his hand. He leads me to the floor, where he gently spins me around and we do a slow waltz. I felt happy for the first time in awhile, and I finally let go of being stressed -even if it's for a little while- and put my head on his shoulder as we sway to the romantic music.

I look over to see Brone staring daggers at his brother, his face had almost turned green with jealousy. I chuckle to myself, "what happened," Axel asks confused.

"It seems your brother is jealous! After all it's his birthday, so I better invite him for a dance."

"Aren't the men supposed to do that?" I raise an eyebrow at Axels comment.

"Of course not," I pat him on the shoulder and give him a quick peck on the cheek before turning on my heel to greet Brone.

He lights up as I ask him to a dance and we have loads of fun messing around, stealing food of peoples plates and causing havoc in the kitchen. By the time we were done, Brone and I were panting: laughing loudly attracting the attention of others. But they do try to ignore us because after all: it was his birthday.

I was so tired when the evening came to a close, that I almost collapse walking back to my room: of course being accompanied by the wonderful gentleman Brone. "I hope you had a good evening," he says shyly.

I giggle and we both burst into heaps of laughter for the millionth time. "D'you want to come to my room and we can chill?" he asks.

Though I was tired: I nod as this meant more fun.

After terrorising the maids, scaring some nobles and running around the long, winding halls, we retire to his room and chat for hours. Time flew with him and I didn't sleep till 5 o'clock in the morning.

I fall asleep on a sofa in Brone's room: he puts a blanket over me as I fall into a deep slumber.
