The last battle

He was in no way easily disconcerted but his brother's harrowing screams made his stomach lurch

For he knew exactly the kind of mental upheaval he was going through

He's familiar with the tumultuous effects of their long existence all too well

" Are you alright love?"

Hayley finally turned her gaze away from the wall and into her lover's, feeling instantly safe and her anxiety vanished

" Why don't you wait outside and let me take care of everything?"

His hand gently tucked her hair behind her air and she held it before giving it a light squeeze, exiting the cell

" Are you certain he'll wake up as himself again?"

Gun to his head, maybe a very small part of him missed his brother

Wanted his closest ally back

She's resting on the bed when Klaus lays beside her

He brushes away the single tear dropping from her eye
And she rests her head on his chest, seeking comfort from his body's heat

They truly needed this ,The past week has been hell

His hand softly played with her brown tresses as he breathed her in

Funny how only now they get to do this

He'd wanted to just hold her for years now and he finally did

Except she's distressed, he's restless and heaven knows what might've happened to their only child

Her tears soaked his shirt before she tried to quickly wipe them muttering apologies halfway through labored sobs

" It's alright Love, let it all out,
Everything will be alright"

He sat there holding her as she slept before Josie barged in

Hayley woke up disturbed to the witch's anxious voice

" It's Elijah, he... Woke up just now yelling and asking for you "

Klaus and Hayley exchanged a worried look before quickly heading back to the dungeon

His hands grasped the spelled metal bars till his knuckles turned white

" Niklaus I'm begging you
You have to listen to me-"

" And why should I? After all wasn't it you who locked up my daughter in a cell and starved her"

Hayley turned to him with a mixture of shock and pain in her eyes but he refused to hold her gaze focusing all his attention on his brother

She wasn't delusional, hope getting mistreated was to be unfortunately expected

Still,It didn't make the revelation any less Painful

" I would have died first before bringing her any harm had i been in my right mind, Niklaus, she's my niece, i love her-"

Klaus moved suddenly closely facing his brother

The unexpected motion caused Elijah to flinch
He could see all the pent-up anger and resentment in his brother's eyes.
And it killed him

" Don't fucking speak of my daughter, and know beyond doubt that if she doesn't return to me safely
I will kill you myself "

He was about to leave when Elijah's pleading voice stopped him
