Reborn

Passing quite a couple of weeks, it soon had turned into a fledge full month when the sudden climax of us being ninja came.

The Chunin Exams. An honorary exam where we can advance ourselves to the next title to become full fledged Chunin. And as of now...we were being introduced to this exam now.

"Chunin Exams...?" I muttered to myself as I looked at the slip of paper in my hands. We had just completed our teams practice and missions, however Minato had told us there was a surprise at the end. Did he mean this...?

"Correct Rin. It's the time for the exam and I believe you three are ready to participate in it." Minato explained as Obito smirked, his eyes glowing with pride as he stared at Kakashi, who had the same lazy face. Seriously...does this boy ever smile..?

"Just for your information," Obito said aloud as he placed his hand on his puffed out chest, "I think I can handle this! As future Hokage that is, I bet I can handle everyone in the exams."

"Yet you couldn't handle a scared cat." Kakashi butted in, making me remember a moment in where Obito had tried helping a drawing kitten. And I say tried because the kitten ended up saving himself while scratching up Obito's face. I ended up using all my bandages that day.

"Why you!" Obito angrily shouted as he curled his hands into a fist, an irk mark on his forehead.

"Now, now. Calm down." Minato nervously said as he stopped them before a fight happened. "You all will be able to show your skills in the Chunin Exams. Just fill it out and return them by tomorrow and you'll be entered. You're dismissed now."

And before I could blink, he had vanished in a blink of an eye.

Would have been nice if he stayed so I could ask some questions.

"Rin? Riiinn?" Hearing Obito call my name, I turned to look at him as he had a big grin on his face. "Did ya hear what I said?" He asked noticing that I had dozed off.

"Uhh no sorry." I apologized with a sheepish grin. "Mind repeating what you said?" I asked.

"Wanna go hang out or something? I mean...not as teammates or uhhh..." starting to stammer he began kicking the ground with his foot.

Something he would do when asking me to go somewhere alone with him. 'He's really not good with women is he...?' I thought as I chuckled at hit embarrassed expression.

"Sure that sounds fine. Where would you like to go?" I asked as I folded up the Chunin Exam paper into my kunai bag. Totally not worried that it will be ripped into shreds.

"I know this great ramen place that Minato-sensei showed me. Come on I'll take ya!" He smiled brightly as he made a grab for my wrist before dragging me off into some random direction.

Something tells me I know this ramen place by heart and by memory.

Looking up at the sign, I mentally facepalmed myself for forgetting this masterpiece that had been here since the beginning of the Naruto series.

Ichiraku Ramen. Rin you idiot....you had forgotten about this place...

"It's pretty quiet today, guess its not a busy day huh?" Obito said as he made a bee line to an empty stool. Patting to the seat next to him, I walked towards the seat and took my spot.

"What would you two like today?" A middle aged man asked us, wearing the complementary chef outside as he looked down at us.

"Hmmm..I'll have miso ramen." I asked as Obito pointed at me for a second.

"Same as hers." He said in his energetic voice. As the man, I actually think he's Teuchi, went to cook our orders I decided to make some conversation.

"So how do you feel about the Chunin Exams?" I asked as it would prove who would advance in level. Although wouldn't make a difference, Naruto stayed a Genin and he was pretty powerful...

"Heh...I feel pretty excited and nervous...but not scared. With enough training that Minato-sensei gave us I bet we could take everyone down." Obito confidently said with a cocky grin.

"Haha, let's not get too cocky Obito." I chuckled. "Although we may have Minato-sensei teaching us, there could be plenty of stronger opponents than us."

"We'll just have to see about that." Obito simply replied as our bowls were placed in front of us, ending the conversation short. Fixing my posture to get a better view at the large bowl, I took a sniff of the food in front of me.

Man did it smell heavenly. Grabbing the chopsticks that were placed on the table, I broke them in two before grabbing a handful of noodles. Scooping them up towards me, I took a bite.

Holy Mary and Joseph...this...

This was like eating something from heaven. Now I know why Naruto always comes over to eat this...

Quickly gobbling the ramen before me, I finished it in a astonishing three minutes. Obito finishing a few minutes after me.

"It's on me." Obito had said as he saw me pull out my share of the bill. Raising an eyebrow at him, I obliged to his statement and put my money away.

Well if he's paying...

After having finished paying Teuchi, we both had begun leaving when we happened to stroll into a couple's path.

And when I say couple...I mean a famous couple.

The Kushina and Minato.

"Ah! Rin I didn't see you there." Minato said as he took notice of me as Kushina looked down at us.

"Is this your team Minato?" Kushina asked as she squatted down towards our level. Grinning as I nodded, Kushina had a glint in her eyes as she noticed Obito. "Hehe...look who we have here. If it isn't Obito..." She viciously said as Obito began to panic.

Had they met somewhere before...?

"Leaving to pay the ramen bill, dattebane..." Kushina growled as her hair began to fly on its...

Wait how is it defying gravity...?

"Ah....look at the time. Talk to you later Rin!" Obito shouted as he began running away, Kushina running after him. As they sped away, me and Minato looked at each other.

"Should we...?"

"No.... partially Obito had it coming for him...."

"Anyways...we're you two on a date-"

"Team outing!!"
