Sorry this took forever to come out-
"I'm telling you, it was huge!" I say, stretching my short arms out as wide as I can. "Wow Nickel" Balloon says, his mouth stretched into a wide smile. "That's incredible, we should all go on a fishing trip soon! Maybe we can catch another salmon" I nod in agreement, Suitcase and Baseball doing the same. "That sounds like a splendid idea" Candle agrees, her voice calm and soothing as always. "Really, you all? A fishing trip?!" Silver spoon complains. I roll my eyes. "It's a fun experience Silver, you'll love it" The spoon simple my huffs, crossing his arms. "Whatever. I'll come, but only because someone worth as little as yourself will never catch anything more than a minnow" he says. I growl, turning around to face Silver. "What did you say, you lousy utensil!?" I cried, preparing to charge. Before I can, Balloon and Suitcase grab my arms and hold me back. "Let me go!" I shout, wriggling to break free from their grip. "Nickel, calm yourself" Balloon says in his weirdly high pitched voice. It's a conscious decision to completely ignore him. "So small and meager you can't even defend yourself from Balloon and Suitcase, the two weakest people I know" Silver says. I fight harder, but still, nothing. "Hey! What about floory?" Balloon says with a glare. "The floor can teleport, a worthy ally indeed. You can't even get gravity on your side" At this point he was just trying to disturb the peace, fan flames. "Fine, have it your way, Silver" Ballon throws Suitcase a quick look, then at the same time, they let me free. I take this chance to leap forward and tackle Silver. "Now, Silver, Nickel. Please try and calm yourself. This vacation is no place for negative energy" Candle says as we fight. We both pretend we didn't hear her. I was struggling to overpower Silver, him being so much bigger. Then I had an idea. Without giving it a moment's thought, I stuck my hand into a nearby mud puddle, and wiped it across the Silver Spoon's face. Silver lets out a sound I've never heard anyone make, a cry of fear and devastation. "Nickel!" Baseball scolds, although he along with everyone else seemed to be struggling not to laugh. Balloon failed and fell to the floor laughing, causing Suitcase to break as well. This caused a chain reaction, first Baseball then Candle soon after. I did the same. Soon we were all laughing so hard we could barely breathe. "This is not a joke, you flat faced imbecile!" Silver spoon cries, desperately trying to scrape the mud off. This only made us laugh harder. Several minutes passed before we all finally calmed down. "I can already tell this is gonna be a great vacation" Baseball smiles, kicking his legs. "Agree to disagree" Spat Silver. "We should hurry up and get to the Hotel- or Oj will cancel our reservation" Says Suitcase. "Which is insanity" I add. "We're Ojs friends, why should we have to pay and we get no special treatment?" I kick a rock in front of me as we walk along the path. "I don't think that's how Hotels work, Nickel" says Balloon. "I really needed to know that, Balloon, thank you" I say, rolling my eyes — yes, I rolled my eyes, big surprise. We continue walking, until the hotel comes into view. Then we all freeze. I can hear the small echo of screams. I could sort of see the door that seemed to have been broken into. What the hell had happened!? Ojs hotel was under attack! We all gasp symontainiosly, as some mechanical beast comes out, dragging something behind it. Mephones corpse. Immediately, Balloon and Suitcase whimper and let out dramatic cries of grief. I knew the right thing to do would be to comfort them, but now wasn't the time. We needed to get out of here. Baseball was one step ahead of me. He grabs Suitcase's handle and Balloons hand. He leans down, so I hop on his head, then he takes off running. Candle is keeping up just fine beside him, and somehow baseball is still going fast with all of us. Silver is gripping onto Candles hand for life and shouting something about an inner flame. There's a forest ahead of us, just to the left, that should make a good cover. I tap my left foot on baseball's head and he takes the hint, quickly turning towards the forest. I don't have to check to see if Candle and Silver are still here, I can hear candles steady footsteps, along with silver clumsy ones, and of course, the screaming at Candle about a volcano and, again, an inner flame, which kind of defeat the purpose of hiding. Once we were in the forest. We kept running for a bit longer, then stopped at a large cave. I sighed as we settled down inside, listening to the calming sound of the trickling stream outside and the rustling leaves in the gentle breeze. "What the hell was that!?" Baseball cries quietly. "Nothing good, I'm sure. You saw what happened! Mephones, gone. This has to be the handy work of Steve Cobbs" I say. Everyone cringes at the word, and Balloon has to comfort Suitcase who is now shivering. "If it's Steve Cobbs, then isn't the job done? Mephones dead, we're safe" says Baseball. Candle shakes her head. "No, Tissues is dead too. I doubt Tissues caused any problems for them, so they must have orders to kill contestants too, or these machines have gone rogue" Everyone was silent as they thought about it. Who could be dead, who's still alive, why come after us? Hundreds of questions swirled around my head, and I couldn't help feeling.. worried? But why? When have I ever felt worried for others? I've never really cared about anyone enough to feel this way, but now that Inanimate Insanity is over.. Everyone's heads turn to the cave door as an echoy sound fill the room. We're not sure what it is, but I'm too absorbed in my own thoughts to care. This isn't for my own gain anymore. Wait.. gain? Gain! "Mic!" I cry. Everyone's eyes light up as they recognize the voice as well. It's starting to become clearer now, Mic's voice calling for help and trying to find others. "Mic!" Baseball cries. "Mic, in here!" Mic's voice starts to get closer. "Baseball? Nickel? Is that you guys?" She calls. At first I start to worry. Maybe we shouldn't let her in. She might have been tailed, she may lead the enemy to us with her loud voice. But.. I shake the thought out of my head. I need to start thinking about others too, as hard as it is for me. "Mic, in here!" I step outside to see Mic wandering closer. She smiles when she sees me. "Nickel! What the hell is going on, I just saw the hotel and-" I cut her off. "I know, I know! We saw it too, and we're hiding out here" Mic nods. "Any known casualties?" Baseball steps out from behind me. "Just two. Mephone and Tissues" Mics eyes go wide. "Mephone!? But that means.." I nod. "Yeah. We can't be revived anymore" We look around the trees. Morning sunlight glares in through the branches. "You better come in" She starts to walk then we all freeze when we hear yet another familiar voice. "Is there anyone else with you?" A whip around to face her. She had just appeared out of nowhere. "Taco" I spat. "Lovely too see you too, Nickel" she says in her thick British accent. "You're not welcome here, Taco." I don't feel guilty. After all she's done? Never. Taco glanced around. Baseball's face is unmoving, obviously showing he really didn't care for Taco. Mic.. looked surprisingly sympathetic. "You'd really leave me to die out here?" Taco asks. Her eyes are filled with something I couldn't explain. Grief? No, Taco wasn't capable. It has to be something else, and I wasn't sticking around to find out what. "Maybe you could find some other survivors?" Mic suggested quietly, avoiding eye contact. Taco pauses for a moment. "Yes, yes. It's not like I wanted to stay in your so-called 'safe' rock hole anyway. I'll find somewhere to actually keep me safe, thank you very much. You guys have fun" her eyes lingered on Mic, then she was back to her normal self. Within seconds, she was gone, disappearing into the foliage. "Don't you think that was a bit harsh, guys?" Mic murmured, twisting her sound to a low whisper. "Taco made her choice when she betrayed Pickle. She's not one of us anymore" Baseball explains. Microphone nods slowly, though she doesn't look convinced. "But you can come in, Mic" I say. "Your.. always welcome" She has to duck to get into the cave. For a while, we all sit in the damp, cold cave, until suitcase brings up a topic I was hoping to not have to think about. "What are we gonna do about resources..?" She asks, so quietly I almost don't hear her. "I say we eat the small flat faced freak. He's worth the least, is he not?" Silver suggests immediately. I roll my eyes. "How would that even work, silver? Wouldn't metal just kill you all?" Silver huffs. "Well.. perhaps Candle is made of something we can eat" I laugh, amused that silver didn't know what candles were made of. "Wax?" Silver pauses to think for a moment. "Is that what the strange substance is? I always assumed it was some.. well, actually I don't know" I shake my head. "Forget it, Silver, We're not eating anyone" Silver sighs. "Can we are least kill for the sake of it?" I was about ready to strangle Silver now. "Who in this room would you even kill?" I ask, glancing around. "Don't answer that" I said quickly, before silver could start listing all of our names. "Enough, you guys" Baseball murmurs. "We need to work together, so please, control yourselves!" Me and Silver quickly mutter apologies, knowing better than to fight with him. "Guys!" Suitcase cries in her squeaky quiet voice. I turn to her. "Chill out Suitcase, why are you yelling?" She lets out an annoyed huff. "She's been trying to get your attention for the last five minutes!" Balloon snaps. "Oh. Sorry" I say. "Please, continue" Suitcase nods and clears her throat. "Is anyone else hearing that?" Everyone falls silent, and then we all simultaneously hear it. A slight scraping sound, echoing around us. The clunky footsteps of a large machine. The slight acrid scent of smoke and oil. One of those beasts had found us. A slight unease fell over the cave and no one dared to move. At least, no one but Silver. "What's wrong with you all? Why is everyone so quiet!" We all shush him as quickly as possible, but it's too late now. Whatever is outside, it's heard us. Silver's eyes go wide as he realizes what he's done. Then, not seconds later, there's a loud bang and the beast is inside.
Hope you like it! Books aren't super easy to write(I'm also mostly doing this for my best friend, lightbulbyyy
