Scouts (or Bishops) can move any distance in a straight line between hexes which are linked by connecting lines (as shown in the diagram).
They can't 'jump' so must stop if blocked by a piece of the same colour. They can, however, move between pieces which occupy hexes on either side of the linking edge.
They can capture an opponent's piece, which is then removed from the board.
It is worth noting that scouts of opposing players can never meet each other in the two player version. In the three player version however, they are in conflict from the very beginning.
