CHAPTER 4 『HUMILIATION』

Those words became shouts just a moment later, as she screamed. "Katargesis!"

Ancient Greek, eh? Didn't expect her to be able to handle such high-grade magic.

In this world, there are several ways of magic incantation. There's the "Imperial" incantations, which is the most basic form of an incantation language. Everybody knows the language, so all they need to have, is a connection to the Odos. The Imperial incantation is regarded as the least powerful of them all.

Ancient Greek is one of the higher tier incantation languages, and houses spells from all kinds of types. Still, to use such a crude spell against me! "Katargesis" robs me of my ability to cast spells, shutting off my magic Odos. If it lands on a person who either doesn't have much control of their Odos, or if they have much magic potency, then there is the chance of their body exploding.

Imagine that you have a bottle which is constantly being filled up with water from the top side. The bottom side has a hole in it, so the water naturally flows out. Let's say that you seal that bottom hole, and water constantly fills in the bottle. At some point, the water is obviously going to come out of the bottle. With a constant influx of liquid filling the bottle and not enough room to house all that liquid, it takes the only way out.

If you swap the bottle with a body and the liquid water with Magica, then you get my point. Sealing off the magic of an Urg is a big no-no, with almost a guarantee in seeing their bodies explode in spectacular fashion.

I didn't even have to change my stance. With a simple move of my head, I dodged the spell, with the magic striking directly the wall behind us.

"Oh dear..."I said, closing my eyes, keeping my Surger low. The picture of myself sighing from boredom must have angered Anastasia, who released a barrage of others of attacks, slowly advancing the Table my way with short steps, together with a spell.

I just dodged them with simple twists of my back and head, with my eyes closed. All I need to do is simply track her Magica. I can do that when I'm concentrated enough.

"Katargesis! Apothesis! Aphoplesis!"shout Anastasia, now taking steps back, turning desperately on the defensive.

The crowd began cheering each time I dodged one of her attacks.

"Damn! Look at her! She's...simply walking!"said a student from down the Table, watching dumbfounded.

"Boooooring. I haven't even used my Surger."i said, dodging one of her disarming spells targeted at my legs, by simply turning my feet to the other side.

Her space was slowly decreasing by each step I took, and each step she retreated. At some time, Anastasia found herself exhausted, on the end of the Table, and me some steps away from her, with a beaming smile.

"You at least get a passing grade for the variety of spells you used. Having demonstrated a series of rather difficult spells, you earn at least a 5. Bravo."I said, clapping elegantly with my Surger still on my hand.

The whole room clapped with me too, Anastasia being red from anger and embarrassment, she continued to pant, her stamina being completely diminished.

"Other aspects of your performance, however, aren't even worth to be mentioned. It seems we have quite the work to do together, Lady Ylva. Hehe..."i said, with a devilish smile of mine.

In the time frame of a millisecond, i raised my foot, pushing Anastasia out of the Table in a humiliating fashion.

From being cocky by believing she'll land the first spell, to having her strength and stamina drained while she is still standing. And then, finally, her falling ultimately to the ground off the Table, with me not even using my magic.
