Chapter 6 - I'm looking forward to the start of school.

Depuis le début

Is she insane???

The monster pounced onto her. I just sighed and turned to leave. Just when I thought this would all be over, I suddenly heard a whimper from the monster. I whipped my head around and saw her jamming the flaming branch into the throat of the beast. I was completely flabbergasted. Most humans would never think of approaching a monster that wants to bite their heads off. And yet, there she was, using the monster's weakness to her own advantage, choking it with some dead wood, her body only a few inches away from razor-sharp claws. But she didn't waver and continued pushing the branch into its mouth. After a few minutes, the monster stopped struggling and fell motionlessly onto the ground.

How amusing.

I clapped my hands at the surprising performance. Instead of running away like most humans would, she was rather curt, even calling me a 'bastard'. Now I'm intrigued. There wasn't a single human that dared to insult me. Not only was I a powerful werewolf, I was also a demon general. Most of them would flatter me with their honey-coated words but she was here throwing insults at me without a care in the world. She even asked me what my name was! After I revealed my identity, she had a horrified expression on her face.

Haizzz... I guess she's the same as all of them.

But instead of apologising to me, she just asked me what I was doing here and not with that commoner. I raised an eyebrow when she said it like she wasn't one of her crazy followers and I was.

Me? You should be the one hovering around her! Not me!

I asked her, "So why are you here? A disabled human like you shouldn't even bother entering any dungeon. You should be buzzing around your commoner princess like a lapdog."

But instead of saying something along the lines of 'I'm making a crystal necklace for Lily', she ended up rambling about how shit her goddess was and that she's just another damsel in distress that can't even properly utilise her light magic. I was shocked. I never expect that pathetic girl's number one crazy fan to insult her with her very own mouth. It was really a breath of fresh air. While we were talking, it was then that I noticed she had purple eyes. She had always worn a pair of thick and ugly glasses on her face so I never knew her eyes were of that colour. It was a vibrant and pretty shade of violet. Just like that Amana guy...

Out of nowhere, she suddenly asked why I wasn't afraid of her eyes.

I chuckled, "What's there to be scared about? I never understood you humans, always so judgemental towards people who are different."

Humans are always this weird. They would constantly judge their own kind and isolate them just because they look a tad bit different from others. I didn't understand what's there to hate about her eyes. In fact, they were kinda pretty. It made her stand out from the sea of common faces. It made her different from the rest. She sealed the deal when she called her own species 'shallow'. She was really different from the other humans.

She's interesting.

I extended my offer to train her. After all, I wanted to know more about this funny human. Why hadn't I noticed such an amusing fellow in my class? The way she spoke was so different. A stark contrast to my current stale school life. Anyway, there's also a side benefit of seeing that commoner's shocked expression when she realised that Miss Amos wasn't as useless as she thought she was.

As I led her away, I said, "Miss Amos, I will first teach you how to properly wield a sword. Your technique was really horrendous."

She replied, "Gee, thanks, Captain Obvious. Anyway, stop calling me by that disgusting last name. Just call me Keira. I refuse to be associated with those worthless adults."
