Start from the beginning

Jisung looked so peaceful,
like an angel.

His black eyelashes were resting
on his chubby rosy cheeks, his lips
were formed into a cute pout and
his other hand that wasn't being
held by his husband was resting on
the blanket, right on his tummy.

The home of their child.

Minho couldn't even help but stare
for a while, it felt so strange to know
that there was really a baby in there.

Jisung had always paid a lot
of attention to his body, his
pretty small waist, his strong
shoulders and buff chest.

It was hard to imagine that his
abs would be replaced by
a cute round baby bump.

"Sungie, my love.
I have to go now, it's getting late
and the cats haven't gotten dinner yet.
I'll come back tomorrow and bring
some clothes for you.
Rest well, okay?
Sleep as much as you need and
hopefully you'll wake up
tomorrow, love."

Minho smiled sadly when there
was no reaction and leaned down
to place a soft kiss on his husband's
chubby cheek, his hand wandering
down to place it over Jisung's on
the younger's tummy.

"Good night, Sungie."

'Good night, baby.'

"Meow~"

"What is it, Doongie?"

The orange kitty meowed sadly
again and curled up on his owner's
lap, looking at him expectantly.

Minho was pretty sure that if he
could, the cat would pout right now.

"You miss him too, don't you?"

Jisung had always been Doongie's
first choice when it came to cuddles,
it was somehow their little ritual
that the kitty would sneak into
his owner's office to hop on his
lap to remind Jisung that it was
time for his good night cuddles.

But now the blonde wasn't here and
both Doongie and Minho were sad.

"Look at you.
You might become a big
brother soon, my boy."

"Meow."

"Yeah, I thought so too."

The cat purred softly and leaned
into the touch when his owner
scratched his chin gently.

"Now where are your siblings,
it's time to sleep and I don't want
any of you guys to scratch on
the door later."

Their apartment was huge but
Minho wasn't a fan of leaving
every door open during the night
only because of the cats so the
three fur balls could only decide
between bedroom, small bathroom,
corridor and living room.

They often slept at the end of the bed,
close to their owner's feet but during
the night Soonie often wandered to
the living room to sleep on the couch.

With Doongie in his arms the
ravenette made his way to the
bedroom, Soonie and Dori
following him closely after
he had called them.

They were meowing softly,
calling for Jisung and it only made
Minho's heart hurt even more.

"He's not here, kitties.
But I hope he'll be back home soon,
let's pray that he'll recover very
fast so we can cuddle with
him very soon."

The three cats snuggled close
to Minho the moment the
ravenette finally laid under
his blanket, hugging Jisung's
pillow close and burying his
face in it to inhale his
husband's sweet scent.

He felt dead tired,
he could feel the exhaustion from
all the worry about his husband in
every single bone of his body.

And even though everything in
him screamed for sleep, his head
was too much of a mess to actually
calm down right now.

This day had really changed his
whole life from one day to another.

This morning he had kissed
Jisung goodbye as a loving,
carefree husband but now he
went to bed with the knowledge
that the love of his life had
completely overworked himself
and put himself and subconsciously
their child in danger.

Minho woke up as a man
but fell asleep as a father.
