Chapter 2: Particle Accelerator

Start from the beginning

Harrison: "What happened out there today? You two were moving pretty well, and then something caused you to lose focus."

Jesse: "I-I guess, it just scared me that's all. I wasn't expecting it, and when I finally realized what was happening, I freaked out and lost focus."

Dad nodded his head and grabbed my hand. I held back happy that he was here to help me. At least he is a speedster like me now. He can train me. I wonder who trained the Flash? Maybe with my dad training him, he'll end up different. Oh, that's probably his plan, that makes sense.

Harrison: "Well, I think I can say unequivocally you are one of a kind."

Huh, what were they talking about? Shit, I should have paid attention to what they were talking about?

Barry left, and I let Caitlin do more tests on me, while dad works on something. Cisco is busy doing...whatever it is that he does. After a few hours, Barry came storming back into the lab all pissed off.

Barry: "I wasn't the only one affected by the particle accelerator explosion, was I?"

Jesse: "Well, duh."

I pointed at myself and Cisco let out a laugh. Barry looked upset, oh he wasn't talking about me. He must have run into another Meta-human.

Caitlin: "We don't know for sure."

Barry: "You said the city was safe, that there was no residual danger. But that's not true, so what really happened that night?"

Huh, when did they tell him that the city was safe? All I remember my dad telling him was that 17 people died that night.

Jesse: "When did they tell you that the city was safe, Barry? All I remember my dad telling you was that 17 people died that night."

Cisco nodded his head and pointed at me. Barry was starting to get on my nerves actually. By accusing my dad and my friends of lying to him."

Harrison: "The accelerator went active. We all felt like heroes, and then...it all went wrong. The dimensional barrier ruptured, unleashing unknown energies into our world. Antimatter, dark energy, x-elements-"

Barry: "Those are all theoretical."

What, is theoretical about it? Both he and I have powers, the Meta-human that he encountered as powers. What is so theoretical about it?

Harrison: "And how theoretical are you and my daughter?"

Caitlin: "We mapped the dispersion throughout and around Central City. Though we have no way of knowing exactly what or...who was exposed, we've been searching for other Meta-humans like yourself and Jesse."

Barry looked at her confused. What is he so confused about, they needed to name these superpower humans something.

Barry: "Meta-humans?"

Caitlin: "That's what we're calling them."

Barry: "I saw one today. He's a bank robber and he can control the weather."

Cisco: "This just keeps getting cooler."

Barry and I looked at Cisco shocked and upset. I mean, this man is a bank robber, and he's using his powers for evil. Nothing about this is cool.

Barry: "This is not cool, all right? A man died. Mardon must have gotten his powers the same way I did. From the storm cloud. He's still out there. We have to stop him before he hurts anyone else."

He goes to leave, but dad stopped him.

Harrison: "Barry! That's a job for the police."

Jesse: "Um, doesn't Barry work for the police?"
