Charity didn't know what to do as she sat there with Rue's head in her lap. She was a little embarrassed about earlier and she could tell that Fezco wasn't in the mood to speak at the moment. The awkward silence between the two was too thick. Ashtray sat on the other couch as he too waited to see if they would have to carry Rue to the car and take her to a hospital because she had died.
"Your deaf?" Ashtray asked.
His voice broke the two hour long silence that they had been wrapped in. Causing both the older teens to look at him with looks of confusion on their faces.
"What?"
"Oh my God. Bro."
They both answered as they stared at the boy. He sucked his teeth and then crossed his arms and leaned back in his seat as he stared at the girl in front of him.
"I'm not deaf. I'm just hard of hearing. I have hearing aids to hear better. Without them, I have a hard time hearing things. Like earlier, it sounded like I was in water. I couldn't hear much outside of the mumbling." She explained.
