Chapter 3

Hinata's POV

I was nervously fidgeting with my fingers as the man infront of me patiently waited for an answer. It was a simple question, 'tell me about yourself and what you can do'. I was wondering just how much I should let him know about me but Stephen trusted them enough to leave me here so I sigh and speak "I come from the Elemental Nations. I'm not sure what... Uh planet or dimension it is in. As for how I came here, we were in the middle of a war. I don't know what happened but that's all I remember before waking up in Kamar Taj.." I pause as he nods then continue "What I can do..... My chakra control is quite... Advanced. Sorry but my vocabulary isn't the best". He leans on the desk and asks "what's chakra?".

I just blink a few times trying to figure out how to explain that. "Chakra is... A mixture of your physical and spiritual energy. We can transform our chakra into elements like fire, water, earth and many more..." He nods looking impressed and asks "can you demonstrate something?"

I hesitate but say "my speciality is in hand to hand combat but I'd rather do this". I do a quick hand sign before using Vaccum Palm and shattering the huge glass windows behind him. I see him flinch and immediately bow my head "I'm so sorry. I should have asked before doing that. Sorry sorry...." He cut me off with a chuckle "that was a great demonstration. I still do prefer to see you in a combat". My face falls hearing that and I say "I don't like to fight... Please let's not do that..". He looked surprised and nodded "sure. I'm sure I would see you in action some day. Mind taking off your glasses?".

I hesitate but look down at my lap and take them off before looking up at him to see the disbelief on his face. I hate this reaction and he wasn't the first to give that look so I don't say anything and just look away. He apologizes and says "those are a unique set of eyes. Tell me about them". I narrow my eyes at him but say "it's called Byakugan. When activated, it allows me a 360° view except for a blind spot at the back of my neck. I can see through anything in the radius of 20 km."

The way his eyes widened made me giggle. I see the corner of his lips lift into a small smile. He cleared his throat and got the serious look "how about you join us. That way we can keep an eye on you and also get one more person on the team". I look at him confused "team? I said I don't like to fight". He chuckles "I know. You don't actually have to fight. But I know you can be a big help for us. You seem smart and your eyes hold a unique power. And who doesn't want to be around their soulmate". My eyes widen slightly at the soulmate thing. I subconsciously look down at my hand, a small smile forming on my lips "agreed. When do I join?". He grins and I can see the satisfaction in his eyes "now. Infact the team is going on a big mission in an hour or so and you would be joining them. Let's go".

He gets up and I follow him out of the door. I look around as we walk through the lobby. Everything was so different from Kamar Taj. Nick chuckles looking at me making me look down at my feet in embarassment. He leads me into what Mordo said is a car. I was completely silent the whole time, just looking out of the window in curiosity. We stop in front of a huge building. Getting out of the car, he leads me into the building.

"Were there soulmates back at your home?" He asks and I shake my head as no. The elevator stop and I feel warm tingles on my hand where the mark was. As the door opens Nick motions for me to walk out but I say no and walk after him in an attempt to hide behind him. The room was silent though I could feel many people present there.

"Avengers..... You have a new companion on this mission" Nick says looking at me then back at those people before moving out of the way. I was looking down at my feet feeling self conscious about my eyes. I hear a man start to argue with Nick and look up just to meet a pair of blue eyes staring at me. I could hear the room go silent. I look around at everyone and give a small smile. A blond man smiles back at me and walks closer "you seem powerful. Not from here. Where are you from". I take a step back and say "Elemental Nations, don't know about the planet or dimension". He nods and extends his hand "I'm Thor, it's nice to meet you" I hold his hand and smile "Hinata Hyuga". He leaves my hand and looks at Nick "feels similar to that thing we felt a few days ago". Nick nods and I look at the others as they start introducing themselves.

The girl who just introduced herself as Natasha grabs my hand and observes the mark before looking at Steve and smiling "welcome to the team Hinata." I smile and pull back my arm gently, but before I could say anything else she holds my arm again and drags me out of the room. I yelp in surprise but follow her into a bedroom. She opens the closet and handed me a black pant "it would be much comfortable to move around in those". Before I say anything, she pushes me into the bathroom. I sigh and change into the pants and it is feel much better. I walk out of the washroom to see her dressed in a black suit and give her a smile "thank you. You got a hair tie?" She nods and gives me one and I tie my hair up in a ponytail. She leads me back to the room where everyone now stood in combat clothes. Nick was no where to be seen.

A Few Moments Later~

I fidget with my fingers again as I feel everyone's eyes on me but no one really asked anything. I silently look out of the window, my eyes a little wide considering we were basically flying right now. "guys what's the plan. We don't just land there and attack, do we?" I hear Steve's voice and look at him. I had figured out by now that he was my soulmate. I could feel everything Stephen told me about. "Yeah, we do have a plan. First we land, take our vehicle and attack" Tony says making me chuckle. "Come on we don't even know the layout of the building" Clint rolls his eyes. I smile and say "I can help with that. After landing just give me a moment and I'll explain whatever's in and out of the building". Everyone looked at him confused so I continue "my eyes allow me a 360° view through anything except for a blind spot at the back of my neck". They nod surprised and Thor grins "I knew there was something special about them. What are they called?". I just smile and reply "Byakugan". I feel my stomach drop and get an uneasy feeling as we start descending. Steven looks at me and gives me a small smile "it's okay, we are just landing". I look into his eyes for the first time after that awkward eye contact back at the building and just smile. I guess soulmates so feel each other's feelings.
