A toast to the bride and groom
To long friendships, the ones that broke the ones that we lost.

The ones that are built with love and the ones that are built with suspicion and envy

To us!
Because we have been close for seven years. Seven years of distance; seven years of hard work and loneliness; seven years of building and repairing

For me, it was more than seven years. It has been a decade. More so, I've been longing to see you.

Hold you in my arms and whisper to you soft words of reassurance and guidance. I don't want you to leave, yet you have to.

I will hand you over to the one who has taken my place the moment he sets his eyes on you.

I'm your best friend!

No, I don't think so; I'm a guest of the bride and groom. Why? Why did I put myself in agony, looking at you, knowing it will never be the same between us?

It has never been that way. Since the very day you said, "I'm engaged," it has never been the same, and it never will be.

I'll stand and watch you as you say "I do," and just like that, you're not mine anymore.
