"Hitoshi Shinso! I remember!"
The boy looked down at her, meeting her bright eyes, "Of course you did it."
Len was shocked, "Wait, you're not in the other hero course?"
"I wanted to be in, but like many others here was forced to choose a different track. Such as life. The first time didn't go as planned but I have another chance. If the Sports Festival goes well the teacher can decide to transfer us to the hero course and transfer people out to make room," Shinso looked at all kids now, incapable of maintaining more eye contact with Lenora, "so I'm here to let you know that if you don't give your very best I'll steal your spot right from under your nose. Consider this a declaration of war."
Lenora was surprised but she gladly accepted some good competition.
Another kid started shouting and Katsuki took that moment to push Shinso out of his way, walking away from the crowd.
Kirishima called him back, "Dude where you going? You gotta say something. It's your fault everyone hating on us, Bakugou!"
"These people don't matter," he slightly turned his head, his eyes on Kirishima, "as long as you rise to the top, they don't matter," they then drifted to Lenora, "you coming or what, witch?"
She nodded, sticking out her hand to Shinso, "Good luck trying to steal my place here."
The boy gave her hand a solid shake, "See you on the battlefield, train girl."
Len winked at him, making her way to Katsuki, who of course didn't wait for her.
"You know that purple bastard?"
"Why do you care?"
He was taken aback by such an answer.
"I don't."
"Then don't ask and let's go train. I have a Festival to win, y'know?"
Katsuki grinned, "I'll beat your ass so bad you're gonna retire!"
Lenora punched his shoulder, "I'll send you right on the moon!"
"I wanna see you try, ugly witch!"
She gave him a last smile before disappearing into the changing room.
It was time to train for real, now.
"Quirks or bare hands?"
"Bare hands first and then quirks."
"Huh?! We're gonna finish tonight!"
"What, you have better plans, witch?"
Lenora felt hit right in the chest. Her right eye started twitching.
"Bring it on, bombshell."
Katsuki wasn't planning to hold back, she was prepared, so it wasn't surprising when his right swing came rapidly toward her face. He once was faster than her, but she did train in those years, preparing herself for a moment like that.
She raised her forearm perfectly in time, blocking his attack. Katsuki wasn't amused, proceeding to use the other punch to hit her in the low part of the stomach. Lenora groaned, crunching a bit, using that fortunate position to close her arms around Katsuki's torso and lift him with a strength he wasn't expecting; she bent her knees and made the boy spin in the air until his back collided with the hard ground.
Thank you, taekwondo.
The girl was still with her knees on the field when Katsuki jumped back on his feet. Avoiding a flying kick by sliding on the ground, Lenora found herself in a horrible position. If she couldn't get back on her feet Katsuki would've gotten her sooner or later. Katsuki was analyzing her moves, frustrated about how she was avoiding all his attacks and Lenora felt that his patience was running out.
