Kayla POV

I arrived home from Aldenham Country Park Pa on Friday at 9:30 and of course my parents were not amused. I didn't really get punished, but they restricted me from going anywhere but the library and back home. To make matters worse, on Saturday Emily invited me to go shopping the next day, to buy a dress for her cousins wedding.

"Please come !" She pleaded. "I know that we had a fall out yesterday, but we are best friends Kaylee . A stupid argument shouldn't drag for so long, when you ask me to-"

For goodness sake Emily! Stop acting as if we always go out together ! I snapped. No dammit, sorry Em, I didn't mean that. I just can't go this time.

"Why not?"

"I'm in trouble with my parents." I said ashamed.

"Really?" She exclaimed. "But you never get into trouble! What did you do, Kaylee?"

What could I say in response? It wasn't like I could tell Emily that I actually met up with Josh and I ended up coming home late. I knew she would only judge me and tell me how I shouldn't have gone to see him. So instead I did the only smart thing I could think of at the time. I rudely hung up the phone.

It was the only quick way for me to avoid Emily and her long winded lecture .

The next day

The minute that I past the schools gates, I ran into the tutor classroom and sat down. For some reason I thought I was being followed and this creeped me out. The classroom as usual was full of my classmates, but there was no sign of Emily or Jaymi. Or even Josh for that matter. Strange. Me and Emily usually had the habit of arriving to school on time and together, 3 minutes before the bell went and still no sign of her. In a way I was relieved it meant that I could get some peace and quiet-

"Kaylee?" A tired voiced wined. "Kaylee! There you are"!

Or not.

" Hey, Emily ! I attempted to pull a smile as I said it. How are you?

"Actually, I'm offended." She said, trying to move as fast as she could towards me.

"Oh, what's wrong did I do anything ?" I asked innocently.

"Well," Emily quickly began. "You hung up on me on Saturday-"

"Hey Kaylee." Said a loud masculine voice called out. Everybody immediately turned their head to see Josh swagger in 7 minutes later for tutorial.

Emily immediately scoffed. "Josh, maybe next time you might want to turn up to lessons quietly when your late! Emily said as she nudged me as if she was doing me a favour.

"Actually, Miss isn't here yet." Josh argued. "So I guess I'm not late, right Kaylee?"

Once again, I could sense that everyone eyes were on me. I guess from our conversation on Friday when he meant by "Just follow my lead yeah" he actually meant it.Josh eyes felt as if they were burning my skin as his eyes where starring at me the strongest.

Yeah, I quietly mumbled. He's kinda um, not late.

Josh smiled in triumphant. He quickly winked at me before turning to face Emily with a face like stone. "See, maybe next time you should keep your time keeping to yourself, Butch.

The whole class burst into  a loud roar of laughter and I winced at how cruel  everyone was at jibing at Emily. It wasn't Emily's fault that her body build was a bit manly and in a way she did resemble a man.

"Why did you have to agree with him?"Emily hissed as she frowned.

Sorry Emily, I whispered nervously. But you have to admit it , he was right about being on time!
