Arnold Matthew Perlstein passed away from an illness on 23 August 2019. His classmates were so grieved. They collected Arnold's stuff and piled them into a small present box. And Ms Frizzle buried it in the school playground.
Carlos died a few weeks later and the class decided to raise funds for a memorial gift in honor of their fellow classmates who have left this world.
So they raised funds for the memorial gift which was a statue of Carlos and Arnold holding paper cranes together surrounded by a flower garden.
When you go into walkerville elementary school playground you will see the two statues in the flower garden.
