25) Kai 2.0

Soon we move into our individual rooms and get comfortable.

Later we all sit around a table and discuss the different places we are going too.

"We're going to bring the air nation back from the brink of extinction after nearly 200 years."Korra smiles.

"And it's all because of you, Korra."Tenzin says.

After a few hours we arrive in a small town at the outskirts of the earth nation.

We are greeted by the village chief and soon all have dinner with the new airbender and his family.

The chief, Tenzin and the new airbender talk pleasantly till they get to the topic of him coming with us and leaving his life here.

"Your going to help us rebuild the air nation."Tenzin states.

"The only thing I'm planning to rebuild is my barn."the farmer replies confused.

"But you must come with us to the Northern air temple."Tenzin reply's sternly.

"Well, I can't do that.I have a family and a farm."the farmer continues.

"Of course you can come.This is of the utmost important! Your wife will understand."Tenzin shouts slightly.

"Wait, what? No, I do not understand."the wife exclaims.

Their children start worrying about the dad leaving but the mother calms them down.

Korra tries to explain the situation again but the farmer states again that he's going nowhere and wants nothing to do with all this.

The chief tries to calm the situation down but Tenzin interrupts him.

I watch all of this silently eating the noodles that are definitely home made.

They argue for a bit longer till the farmer tells us to leave.

I quickly eat up and we all go back to the airship.

We sit in the chairs and I put my head in my hands.

We start talking about what went wrong and I look at the map in front of us.

We still have so many places to recruit people, it's going to be fine...right?

Bolin suggests that we stuff them in a potato sack and that's when I speak up.

"No, we can't force the people, besides we got to try something else because these people won't all leave the lives they have built themselves willingly and we can't just throw them in potato sacks either.They must come freely or it's considered a crime."I say and hear Bolin groan in annoyance.

That's right idiot I know all the laws this world has to offer.

"But not to worry, there are plenty of other airbenders out there who will be happy to come with us once they find out what the air nation's all about."Tenzin announces.

Soon we all go too sleep and the next few days are spent trying to recruit people which barley works out.

Right now I'm in my room sitting in front of the desk.

I light a match and the candle in front of me.

I blow the match out and throw it in the trash.

I take a deep breath and close my eyes for a second.

I open them again and focus on the candle.

"Happy birthday, Kai."I say softly, smiling.

He hated celebrating his birthday but we always did something.
