Better Off As Lovers [Bugz Bunny x Lebron James]

Bugz wakes up the next Saturday morning. His stomach turning from the day that proceeds him. His anxiety has been eating him away, not to mention, his little habit has gotten worse over the past few days. Bugz sighs as he puts on his favorite shirt. A mix of formal and casual, perfect for the event today. He looks at the clock. It's 12pm, about 30 mins before he needs to leave. He brushes his buck teeth while avoiding making eye contact with himself in his mirror. He sits down in his bean bag chair in his dorm's bedroom and he realizes he wasted most of yesterday cleaning when Lebron wasn't even going back to his place...unless....no, that's impossible. Bugz has always been told he's a dreamer, he never saw it himself or understood it until now. After a bit of overthinking, he got up, grabbed his wallet and keys then left his tiny little room that's supposed to be his home. At a place he's supposed to love, but, does he really? that's not important now. he needed to put on a show for Lebron

After a 20 minute bus ride to Les Chauves he sits down in one of the booth tables in the corner of the restaurant waits for the all-star basketball player. 5 minutes pass, then 10 minutes pass. Suddenly it all hits bugz, Lebron was probably trying to get revenge on him for abandoning him last year. By abandoning him at Les Chauves. Hell, maybe that was a best case scenario. Lebron is loaded and knows powerful people. Who knows what he could do to Bugz? Why did he even think this was a good idea? God he's so stup-
"Bugz?"

Time stopped as Bugz saw his best friend of many years, stand in front of him and then sit down in front of him.
"Lebron?" Bugz said, completely flabbergasted.
"Hey."  Lebron chucked, starring at the rabbit which made him blush a bit.
"Aw man how are you doing I haven't seen you in ages, i'm sorry for not calling i've ju-" Bugz was cut off
"It's okay Bugz, we've both been busy. I'm just happy to see you again." Lebrons soft gentle words wrapped Bugz like a heavy blanket. A wave of emotions fell over Bugz as he realized he was still in love with the man he called his best friend.
"i've been doing good, man. I've been traveling the world, shooting hoops, meeting all these people." Lebrons words were like daggers to bugz's fragile rabbit heart, what did he mean other people?
"That sounds amazing!" bugz lied. "I can't believe you remembered me after all of that!" Bugz nervously chuckled. He noticed Lebron tense up, and suddenly, Bugz regretted his words.
"That's what I kinda wanted to talk to you about. There's a reason I asked to meet with you after all this time" Lebron stated while looking away, twittling his thumbs in the process.

Bugz got nervous. How did he think Lebron didn't know about his feelings? He was so obvious with them, it was like he didn't even try.
"After all this time being away from you, and everything i've been doing recently" He paused, took a deep sigh and said
"There's something I have to tell you."
Suddenly Bugz's eyes glimmered like a vampires skin in the sun, he was bejeweled. He knew it was just his dreamful nature....unless?
"After meeting all these people, having all these experiences, I feel like i've changed a lot. " Lebron took another pause.
"but there's always been one thing missing, or rather, one thing I missed." Lebron James lovingly stared into Bugz bunny's eyes. Hoping Bugz got the hint.
"What is that?" Bugz asked, not getting the hint.
"You, bugington bunnies." Lebron declared.
Bugz felt like he was gonna pass out, was this really happening? He felt his face turn redder and redder by the second as the familiar feeling of butterflies he's been denying all these years have been let out of their cage. The feeling was paralyzing.

"it's always been you." Lebron James said.
"Remember the amazing New Mexico sunset we shared together? After we went to that water park, We were sitting on the bridge and it was nothing but orange and red above us." Lebron grabbed bugz's hands and squeezed tightly, not breaking eye contact  while doing so. It was the most intimate moment Bugz had ever been doing in his life, and it was with the person he wanted to do it most too, in a middle of a romantic restaurant. It was all so much. He had to force words out
"...and watched spirited away together. How could I forget?" Bugz replied, smiling. His heart was beating through his chest.
"Wow Lebron, I really do not know what to say." Bugz added, the flusteredness showing through to his voice.
"You don't have to feel the same way, I just want you to be honest with how you feel." Lebron asked of Bugz.
"I...feel the same way" Bugz was stumbling on his words so much he was barely comprehendible. Lebron James understood, like he understood everything else about Bugz.
Bugz's words shocked the basketball player to his core. Words couldn't describe how he felt but one word rang around in Lebron James's head as he realized he may get the relationship of his dreams
