chapter 5: labor and delivery

Emery

We are in the ambulance and Leo's here with me I'm doing my breathing then I get another contraction I grab Leo's hand and squeeze his hand as I scream in pain.

A few minutes later I let go of his hand and a few seconds later I look at him to see that he's rubbing his hand. "sorry..." I say quietly he shakes his head "no it's ok no need to be sorry you were having a contraction I am perfectly fine im not bleeding am I?" I shake my head "right so im ok" I smile and nod "ok.. promise me you're ok?" He smiles "I promise I'm ok" I sigh in relief I just really thought I hurt him.
After a few minutes we arrive at Saints hospital they take me out of the ambulance and bring me into the hospital
After settling in the room Andrea comes rushing in
She puts her hand on my belly and kisses it I laugh "are you ok em?"
"Yes yes I'm fine"
She nods "ok good" she glances at Leo then back at me then quickly back at him he just stands there hand on his neck "who tf are you!?" He reaches his hand out for her to shake it "Leo and you?" She hesitantly shakes his hand "Andrea her big sister" she wipes her hand on her jacket and I laugh
"I'm just gonna sit over here" I nod "he's cute how old is he?" Andrea whispers "23 why?" She gasps "Emery no!" she whisper yells "what?" She shakes her head "does he know your 17?" She turns to him "did you know she's 17?!" He lightly gasps "omg she's 17 omg I didn't know oh my lord" he says jokely and I laugh she sighs "at least he knows you're 17" I nod

The nurse comes in after a while to check if I'm 10 cm yet she sits on the rollly chair and I put my feet on the stirrups "good news Em your are officially 10 cm dilated we are going to roll you to the delivery room ok?" I nod "are you boyfriend and sister going to be in the delivery room" Andrea looks at me shocked i put my hand up in front of her face "yes they are" the nurse nods and then leaves "no we aren't dating the EMT asked he was my boyfriend I didn't say anything he said yea I was in too much pain to answer now go" I say waiting for response "nah you answered my questions" I giggle

Two nurses come into the room they put the railings up and they start rolling me out of the room Andrea and Leo follow behind

We get to the delivery room Andrwa holds my left hand and Leo holds my right hand "your ok your safe mommy would say "tienes esto estás bien pronto conocerás a tus pequeños paquetes de alegría y serán lo mejor de tu vida" but she's not here so" I tear up "tienes esto estás bien pronto conocerás a tus pequeños paquetes de alegría y serán lo mejor de tu vida" I laugh through the tears "that's really beautiful" Leo says and Andrea looks up at him "what is?" She says softly "what you just said.." she looks at him confused "I uhmm I'm Puerto Rican" she nods

I squeeze their hands as I push after a few pushes baby A is born but I hear no crying "congrats it's a girl" I nod "what's wrong? why isn't she crying!?" I look at Andrea "I don't know baby" I hear a smack then I hear crying i sigh with relief  "she's ok she's ok" the nurse nods

"OK time for baby B" I nod "push" she yells I push as hard as I can "I can't I can't do it anymore it hurts" I shake my head tears falling "it's ok when baby B is here you can officially start your life" Leo says I nod while smiling I push once again this time hearing baby B crying "congrats another girl" I smile feeling my moms presence

"Welcome to the world Liliana and Valerie" Leo's says hovering over them "aww you remembered the names" he glances at me and smiles "of course"

I'm holding baby A sorry Valerie and Andreas holding Liliana "she looks like mommy" Leo comes out of the bathroom and walks over to me he opens his mouth to say something when a nurse comes in "congrats dad twins better yet twin girls" he's looking at her with confusion "oh you're ok I have 2 girls at home and my husband is just the best with them you're going to be ok" he nods and she walks out of the room Andrea bursts out in laughter "she thought you haha were hahaha the dad haha!"

He rolls his eyes "anyways Emery I have to go my babysitter just called saying she has to go home" I nod "go it's ok" he nods then kisses my cheek "good luck Emery" I smile and nod "bye Leo" he waves then walks out the room

"Wow a kiss on the cheek how nice" I giggle at her comment "some friends kiss each other's cheek I don't know" she rolls her eyes
