“Hey Seulgi-yah”

“Hmm??” She stops writing and look at her lover.

“I am curious about something”
“What is it?”

“It may sound corny but do you…”

Seulgi just smile at her shy lover fidgeting her fingers while trying to make it not look awkward.

“Do you believe in forever?”
“Forever?”

“Oh,.. you may not answer it, it’s just that I’m curious about it. You know I can’t just ask Sooyoung and Wendy, they might just tease me again”

Seulgi chuckles and pinch her lover’s cheek. “Ah!” Irene yelp.

“Of course”

“How do you describe it?”

“Hmm, let me see, how about this, do you want to spend time forever with me?”

Seulgi scoot closer to Irene and just look her with genuine eyes.

Irene fakes her cough and move away a little.

“I just ask you a question and you answer me with another question, forget it” Irene stood up but Seulgi held her wrist.

“I am not finished yet”
Irene sat down again and let her girlfriend speak.

“Where should I start?” Seulgi mumbled.

“I want to stay and hold you until death do us apart” Seulgi laughs, Irene got pissed off.

Irene smack her head and stood up. “Forget it, you just said a wedding vow you dumb” Seulgi stood up and held Irene’s hand.

“That what my forever is, it is something that I want to hold on to. Forever is something you can’t just promise to anyone but I am making this promise to you Irene. We may fight sometimes, got sad, feel overwhelmed or hurt each other with hurtful words but I want to hold and love you forever. And that forever is something I can promise you Irene.”

A loud slap from the face echoed from bar, the music stops and the people look at the two lovers standing. The one who cheated and the one who got cheated.

“How can you do this to me?” Irene sobs and wipe her tears.

“I’m sorry”

“I can’t believe this, Happy 8th anniversary love, let’s break up” Irene said and left the bar.

You can say that it might be her worst day, Irene got cheated and Seulgi didn’t even bother to explained. She hopes that Seulgi will run to her and beg for forgiveness but no, Seulgi didn’t even bother to explained and just let her leave the bar.

It’s their 8th anniversary but damn she want to curse the earth, universe and everything she sees and asking if she even deserve this. She was crying in mess and hell it’s even raining. She felt her knees weakened and she stops at the post light and flops down.

“Why?!” She yells while crying. She was clutching her chest for it hurts so much. She has love Seulgi for 8 years, no, let’s include how she fell in love with her since 6th grade, 13 years in total. She never doubted Seulgi’s love her for she doesn’t want to lose her and gave her everything she can give to Seulgi but a painful gift in their anniversary she has received.

A car stops in front of her. It was Wendy, quickly ran and cover her with a jacket and let help get inside the car.

They never talked, Irene just gazed at the window while Wendy was so worried about Irene. She doesn’t know how to help the girl but she wants to stay by her side until she finally feel at ease.

They finally arrive at Irene’s condo, she assisted Irene to her bed and cover her with warm blanket.

“Sleep now, don’t worry I won’t leave” Wendy said. Irene didn’t bother to reply and just close her eyes.

Wendy gets her phone and called someone, “I am at Irene’s condo, I might take a while here, don’t worry I’ll take care of her”

She ended the call and lay down on the sofa. “What a night” she mumbled.

After two months….

Irene never heard of Seulgi again and she doesn’t want to hear about her anymore. She just wants to forget about everything about Seulgi but she can’t.

Everyday is a torture to her, she always thought of Seulgi. She may hate her but she still cared at the girl who cheated on her.

Everyday she asks herself if there’s something she has done that Seulgi has to do that to her. Is she even enough? Was her love enough?

“Irene?” Wendy opened the door of her room. It was just pure dark but it’s already 10 in the morning.

“Hey, its already 10, I made you some breakfast. Sooyoung is here”
Irene ignored Wendy and just staring blankly at the ceiling.

“Irene, I know it’s your day off but you should at least eat your breakfast”

“I don’t want to eat, just leave”
Wendy didn’t listen and went inside, she opens Irene curtain. She heard Irene’s irritated groan.

“Close the curtain.” She demands.

“Please, it’s Sooyoung’s birthday.”
Irene finally back to her senses.

After what happened at the bar, she didn’t talk to Wendy, Sooyoung and to her friends anymore.

She declines every invitation of her friends and after work she just went straightly to her condo.

“Wait outside” Wendy nodded and went outside. Irene heavily sighed.

“This isn’t me, why… what the hell is wrong with me” she thoughts. She gets and went straightly to the bathroom.

Wendy and Sooyoung are having fun at the kitchen. Wendy is preparing their food while Sooyoung are telling stories about how her business trip went.

“Happy Birthday, Sooyoung!” Irene greeted from the back.

“UNNIE, I MISS YOU” Sooyoung ran to Irene and hug the latter. “I miss you too”
“Unnie, let’s eat. Wendy cooked some”
“Sure”

While eating, Sooyoung breaks the silence and drop some envelope.

“What is this?” Irene asks, she opens the envelope and saw a birthday invitation of Sooyoung.

“Unnie, I’m having a birthday later and also, we will tell everyone about our engagement, but it’s also fine if you don’t want to go it’s just that, I want you to be there.”

Irene pause for a moment and think. “If I go, will I see her?”

“She won’t be there” Sooyoung said. Wendy taps Sooyoung and she quickly apologizes.

“It’s fine, Wendy. Why? You are her cousin.” Irene asked.

“She’s been busy a little.”

“Ah, important than this?” Sooyoung didn’t like how Irene asked her.

“Unnie….”

“I’m sorry, don’t worry I will go.” Irene bitterly smiles and left the kitchen.

Wendy just holds Sooyoung’s hand to comfort her.
