Each missed swing, each overshoot, reminded Heimdall of the day they met. He reached out his hand, shoving Loki again. "Sea legs make you sloppy? Come now, show me what tricks you've been keeping from me."

Loki's eyes shone yellow before returning blue. He'd keep fighting in his human form for now. Didn't matter for Heimdall. His speed had returned to him. Foresight was finally in his favor now that they had room to move. Being off that forsaken, wooden deathtrap had allowed him to feel like his old self again.

Loki sheathed his knife, removing his bow. Melee attacks failed to land. Heimdall chose to dodge as subtly as possible, loving Loki's furrowed brows upon 'just' missing. Heimdall cackled in satisfaction.

"And you think of yourself to be ready outside of your daddy's protection? Your father forced me to fight back. You can't land a single hit. Embarrassing!"

"Tell me what you did to me," Loki barked, readying an arrow.
"Don't have anyone to help make you more arrows, mutt. Sure you want to waste them so soon?"

Loki let loose. Heimdall grabbed the arrow before it went into his forehead. "Aiming to kill, are we? That's a bit much."

Loki had no intention of killing Heimdall. They both knew there was no real threat. Still, the brat readied another arrow. Heimdall tucked the one he held into his belt. He'd return it when he felt like it.

Yawning, he stretched past the new arrow. This one stuck to the tree behind him, a purple glow surrounding it. Heimdall stepped out of the explosion radius. Loki charged, back to melee, holding his bow overhead. He swung down, fast. Not fast enough, but he had gotten more nimble since their first fight. Heimdall continued making the smallest movements he could to dodge.

"So close. Keep at it. I'm sure one will hit."

"Shut up."

Loki chanted whatever made-up words he used to conjure the runic animals. Spectral boars charged Heimdall. He rolled on the base of his foot between two of them. The third he'd have more fun with, jumping over its back. When was the last time he'd been able to jump? The boat had gone through hell but the two had unspoken agreements to not test it with unnecessary movements. He leapt in the air once more, clicking his heels.
"Common, Jotunn! Show me what you've got."

Loki yelled, throwing his chest back before nursing into a bear. The beast was much larger when not circled into a ball. He hadn't actually seen this form in its full glory before. Taking in the sight was cut short. Loki ran, head first, and slammed into a tree as Heimdall dodged. The tree immediately shattered at the base, collapsing overhead. In falling, it threatened to take down two more.

"Well I guess we'll be good on firewood," Heimdall sang, jumping up on the trunk. He ran up the tree as Loki chased, snapping the wood underneath him from his weight. Heimdall sprang, landing gracefully. "Is that form truly best for such a tight jungle? Unless hitting your head is something you do for fun now."

The bear roared, lunging once more. His jaw snapped at Heimdall who thrusted the hilt of his sword into the bear's throat. He staggered, gagging. The bear's mass slammed into another tree, taking it down. Loki transformed back to a boy, holding his throat.

"Was that the extent of your most powerful form? How disappointing."

Loki was fuming. He ran forward, hand going to his knife. The brat's inability to give up was becoming tiresome. Though their fighting was far from over, just a taste of Loki's rage was enough to satisfy the God for now. Under his breath, he muttered "Slow down."
Heimdall dashed into him, slamming the handle of his sword into the brat's gut. Time continued as Loki clutched his stomach. Heimdall twirled behind him, slamming his foot into the little giant's spine. Loki fell onto his stomach. He snatched both the boy's wrists in his hand, arms twisted behind Loki's back, and stomped a foot down at the center of his back. Loki let out a whine as Heimdall applied enough pressure to nearly tear his arms out of their sockets.
