Chapter 17

Haoran's/Ives' POV

"What the heck is she doing here?!" mahina at may himig ng gigil na sabi ko at pasalampak na umupo sa bakanteng sofa sa VIP area.

Honestly, naitawag na ito sa akin ng tauhan kong nagbabantay kay Doc Mav. Saktong-sakto ang tawag nito kanina pagkalapag ng chopper sa yate. He informed me that Doc Mav and Megan had boarded Don Vasquez. Ngunit wala itong alam kung bakit. Though he sent me a picture of her at the port kaya alam ko kung ano ang suot o ayos ngayon ni Doc Mav.

May kinalaman kaya ito kay Charlie Gozon? Do they think that the suspect is here?

Mas lalo akong naalarma. If that's so, baka narito rin ang nagbanta sa buhay ni Doc Mav.

Tss. Damn it.

Isinama ko sana rito si Theo.

"Ms. Ives, I'm sorry for what Mr. Tang did earlier. He's just wasted. Ako na ang humihingi ng paumanhin," wika sa akin ni Hendry Vasquez nang lumapit ito.

I never liked this man. Hindi ko gusto ang pagkatao nito.

"Hmm," tugon ko. "Where is he now?"

"W-We've already sent them back to the port..."

"Good."

Ipinaghanda ako nito ng mga pagkain at inumin at kahit gaano pa karami at kasarap ang mga 'yon, hindi ako natakam.

Then may iniabot na susi sa akin si Vasquez.

"This is the key to Cabin 1. It's the most luxurious cabin here and I reserved it just for you."

"Thanks!"

"If you have any other requests, don't hesitate to call me."

"Actually, I have one."

"Of course, Ms. Ives. What is it?"

Tumayo ako at humakbang patungo sa gilid ng glass wall at dumungaw sa ibaba kung saan kita ko si Doc Mav. Sa dami ng taong nagkakasiyahan, sa kaniya lang ako nakatingin. She's really mesmerizing...

"That gorgeous woman in a burgundy dress..." sabi ko at nilingon ko si Vasquez. "I want her."

This place is too dangerous for her and I need to keep her safe.

"Oh! The performer! Sure! Not a problem, Ms. Ives. Actually, marami na rin ang lumapit sa akin kanina at gustong i-request si Rikki. But don't worry, I will make her available just for you... if the price is right..."

Tch.

Pinalapit ko ang isa kong tauhan na may hawak ng attache case. Hiningi ko ang check book at fountain pen na agad naman nitong iniabot.

Pagkatapos kong isulat ang halaga sa cheke at pirmahan 'yon ay ibinigay ko 'yon kay Vasquez. Nakita ko kung paano halos malaglag ang panga nito at manlaki ang mga mata habang nakatitig sa cheke. Hindi ito makapaniwala sa halagang nakasulat doon.

"250 million pesos. Is that enough?" seryoso kong tanong.

"O-Of course, Ms. Ives! It's more than enough! Napakagalante mo. So, Rikki then will be solely yours tonight. Should I send her to your cabin right now?"
