Funeral

So today is the day of your funeral. I'm wearing black, even though I know you'd never have wanted us to.

This is the last of the letters. This is also my speech.

I've read out all the letters so now everyone knows.

You're lying in that coffin behind me. I asked your mother if I could get something for you to wear and she looked at me, surprised, but she nodded. I went back to the shop and bought the necklace, then I went home and dug out the top. When I showed them to your mum she nodded and smiled.

I was so lucky to have known you.

Thank you for that note. I will treasure it always.

I love you too.

Rest in Peace.
