During the Battle in the Department of Mysteries, someone emerges from the veil. It is not death, but he has come with purpose all the same.
The Order of the Phoenix finds themselves with a new and unexpected ally, and are not quite sure what to make of their newfound situation.
In times of war friendships are scarce and loyalty even more so, how can they know to trust this young man, a son of vipers and descendant of great names, with strange power that has never been known before?

Dorian knew that once he had done the unforgiveable, there would be no coming back.
What his choices made of him remains to be seen: will he find sanctuary in the ranks of heroes, evading his true nature, and prove himself to be more?
Or, will the sins of his progenitors tainting his life's blood turn him once and for all to villainy, push its boundaries, until there could be no salvation, not even for him, and absolutely no redemption.
It need not be, Dorian reflects.
It will not be, he vows.
Dorian leaves his old life behind with a solemn finality, a wayward son alone in the world, in need of allies.
Dorian knows to look for them where his new enemies would least expect. He is unsure where this new road will leave him, knows less of peace, and lesser of true goodness, opposed to the darkness in which he was raised. Vices and virtue are a collar of thorns around his neck, threatening to kill, urging him to make the right decision.
In the end Dorian wonders if he will be deserving of repentance, and be forgiven by the one he has wounded most.
