0. The Starting Point Of The Anomaly

*(T/N):The last name of the duke differs in translation, some translate it as Eldear, Eldere, Eldier, Eldeer, and the romanization in some is spelled as Eldieo.

Duke Franz Eldieo* looked young for his age.

Gorgeous platinum hair, blue eyes like the clear sky, and well-balanced features.

Even though he is closer to 40 than 30, his beauty has not faded at all to the extent that he is said to be nothing more than a work of art.

He said with a beautiful smile that even made the viewer feel better.

"Welcome, Archmage."

Archmage Solan Garcia thought while watching the duke smile. 'I want to burn my face with fire'. The old Archmage did not hide his true feelings. He frowned and said "Don't smile".

"Huh?'

"Seeing you smile makes me feel like I'm making a mistake. Maybe it's because I'm older, my patience isn't what it used to be".

"......ah, yes".

The Duke stopped smiling and cleared his throat.

"I repeat, my wife's death was also a sudden accident for me. You know that she was originally a weak person, right?"

"The guy who impregnated a weak child and took her away is a good talker".

"We loved each other! She didn't die because of the pregnancy!" the Duke burst into anger.

The Archmage crossed his arms, hoping to hear what this damn son-in-law was talking about.

The Duke took a deep breath and continued. "My daughter is already 7 years old, how could she collapse now from a birth that happened 7 years ago?"

"Then what did you do to make my daughter die before she turned 30?"

"I told you. It wasn't because of me, it was because of the pollution".

"Gloria was a spirit mage. A spirit mage dies of pollution? That makes sense".

"She's so weak that she's never really fought pollution. Do you know how shocked I was that the mages had entered the Osom area?"

The Duke smacked his chest in frustration and chagrin. The Archmage gestured at him.

"Now explain why you sent your wife to a polluted area. You knew very well that Gloria had never been to a contaminated area in her life, so why?"

"She said she'd go"

"Even if she said she'd go, you should've stopped her"

"I've thought about that over and over again. I should've stopped her. Why couldn't I stop her..."

The Duke paused for a moment. Tears welled up in his blue eyes. He pleaded.

"But Gloria...she said she's a spirit mage as well, so why can't I trust her? She begged that I, as her husband, trust and support her as my wife."

"......"

"I...only for her sake...I never thought that such a result would come out..."

The Duke lowered his head and began to sob.
