"i've never seen him cheer up that fast." lexy said, surprised.
cherry shrugged.
the mayor stepped up into the stage.
"good evening, everyone." the mayor said, standing in front of the mic. "thank you all for coming tonight. as your mayor, i wanted to take this opportunity to speak to you about the series of unfortunate accidents."
the group looked at each-other.
"first, thoughts and prayers for anyone who was lost an acquainted or loved one. second, i am here to tell you that hackensack has never been safer!" the mayor continued.
the crowd booed.
"third, you're an idiot!" someone called out.
the crowd agreed, murmuring.
"fourth, it's important that you understand that i am doing everything in my power to keep you all happy and healthy, because nothing is more important to me than family." the mayor continued.
