I found myself on a step next to the door, soaking in the fresh smell.
After a few seconds of a weirdly comfortable silence König took a seat on the same step but a little bit away from me.
He was quite tall. Every time I'm next to him he seems scarier than the last.
"Why are you helping me, huh?" I glanced over at him. He reached into his pocket, handing me a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Taking it from his hand, I took one out and lit it.
"We need you. You will help us and we will protect you." He moved his hands to fiddle with his hands, rubbing his shins repeatedly. "We need you to trust us, and we need to trust you."
His english was very blocky. He still seems new to the language, or he was just very rusty. It was very defined.
Looking over at him he was fiddling nervously. His eyes were jolting around subtly but after a few seconds he noticed my stare.
We made eye contact. His eyes were a very gentle blue, pretty much grey. He had a salmon pink waterline that contrasted his dark eye black.
He looked at the ground, continuing to fidget.
He seemed nervous. Not particularly of me or our conversation but it was mostly just about being alone without the people he's comfortable with.
I gently scooted over to him, moving my cigarette into my left hand. My right hand placing onto his shoulder.
His body language was very clear his was uncomfortable. His chest was slightly pulled towards his knees, trying to keep himself close together.
"Hey, I don't bite. It's alright." I told him encouragingly. He kept shooting me quick glances, confused at first but after a few seconds he managed to keep his hands still somewhat.
"Let's think about something else." I recommended, placing my hand back onto my knee I tried to think of something to talk about.
"How long have you been in this military thing?" I asked, taking a drag from my cigarette.
He had to think for a few seconds.
"Since I was 17. It has been a long time." He answered. He crossed his arms on his knees as he leaned his chin against them.
"Wow. That is a lot time. Seeing how you seem fully grown with how big you are and all." I joked, giving a small chuckle. He gave a huffing laugh too.
"I still don't understand why you're all the way out here." I added, giving him a small look.
"I came here with this squad so that I can help my country. Austria too has bombs in our country and we need to know where before we start losing." The tall male's german accent soothed me. It was harsh but interesting to listen to.
My heart hurt. He just wants to protect his country, he's not concerned about using the weapons against people or using them against enemies. He just wants his home to be safe..
"Enough about me. We should get inside now." He huffed as he hoisted himself up.
Snubbing out my cigarette I got up, facing the big man as I held my hands out. He took notice, waving his hand out while shaking his head.
"Oh no no. No more cuffs." König held his hand up for a fist bump. "Trust."
Glancing up at him I couldn't help but give a grateful nod. I hit his knuckles.
We soon headed inside, I headed for my bed as he did the same. The lights, except for one over the big table, had been turned off.
Ghost's and Soap's curtains had been drawn closed. Gaz's were lazily pulled but I could see that he had passed out, still in his gear and everything.
I couldn't stay here. I don't belong here. I belong in Mexico with my people.
I have to get out of here. They were and are my enemy. They can't force me into it. I just need to be patient.

2 months later.
Price had come up with a plan. They were going to raid the "establishment" that we had displayed. They had everything planned and they even got the resources for it.
I need to put trust in my men.

König POV
Me and Y/n haven't had any close conversations since the night in the rain. The weather has only gotten worse since. The rain getting heavier each passing week. It wasn't consistent at all but we could tell it was getting bad.
The past few months have been making my nervous. I've always gotten nervous between missions but this time seems worse.
The past week I've found myself struggling to sleep, usually ending up pacing around the room thinking about it all.
Yet again I find myself doing the same. The cold nipping at my toes, even making my ankles cold through my sweat pants. My grey long sleeve only serving so much heat.
Pit pat. Pit pat. Pit pat.
Price walked in. He had been depriving himself trying to thoroughly plan it all out. He nodded to me, it being late and all.
"Another late night?" I asked gently. Mumbling past the nail in my mouth.
"Yeah. Get some sleep soon. Night König." Captain Price said goodnight as he headed for his bed. After a few minutes of fumbling I heard him finally get to bed, soon hearing his soft snoring.
Back to pacing.
My heart slowly beginning to race faster after ever minute.
My heart rate spiked as the sudden sound of a curtain pulling back scared me.
"Stop pacing and go to sleep already." The harsh quieted tone came from Y/n.
I quickly looked away from her, my face not covered by my mask anymore. My nails finding their way between my teeth, biting off small chunks.
Hearing a sigh from her I heard her shuffle around.
"C'mon König, get over here." She said in a hushed tone. I didn't want to face her.
My face felt so exposed and seeing her without it, just the thought scared me.
"I-.."
"It's too dark to see your face, I'll look away and everything." She reassured. Hesitantly I peeked over at her. She wasn't lying. She was looking down with a hand over her eyes.
I took one step, freezing, before making my way over to her. Hearing my footsteps she shuffled back more towards her pillow before patting in front of her gently for me to sit.
Slowly I sat down, drawing the curtains. Facing her.
Y/n kept her eyes covered as she gently patted forward, finding my hands. She held one of my hands, tracing circles into my palm.
My other hand cupped around hers to keep them warm. My legs were cold but it wasn't as bad as my hands. Her hands were neutrally warm, offering comfort.
The circles in my skin were mesmerizing, calming me down.
Hesitantly I shifted to lay on my side, my hands wrapping around my stomach as I kept my hands to myself. Laying to the side of her.
She readjusted to make room for the both of us, nearly impossible with how small the bed was, covering me with the blanket as well.
She moved it so that a pillow was between us, keeping distance but just enough to still be comfortable on the bed. This was somewhat comforting.
Knowing I wasn't alone. I buried my face into the pillow between us as I closed my eyes.
Y/n already seemed to be asleep as she wasn't moving much and her breath was more slow and rhythmic.
