I close the front door.

I have to go to the store.
We don't have any chocolate left.

I get out my headphones and connect them to my phone.

I start playing music.

The first song to come on is Heather by Conan Gray.

This song always makes me a bit sad, but I'm physically unable to skip it.

I just move my mouth like I'm singing, but I don't make any sound.

the next song plays.

Requiem from the musical Evan Hansen...

I should really add more happy songs to my playlist...

I "sing" that one along too.

I reach the song as soon as the next song starts.

Drift away from Steven universe.

Goddamn.

I walk through the store, find chocolate and take it.

When I walk past the little flavored milk bottles I just can't stop myself.

I can't decide between Vanilla and strawberry, so I end up taking both.

I go to the cash register, pull my headphones down, pay, put my new stuff in my backpack and walk out of the store.

I put my headphones back on to hear the next song play.

Space was cool by Markiplier.

I start the song over and make my way back home.

On the way the music consumes me, but when I return to reality I'm on a completely wrong street.

Guess I'm taking the longer route!

I take off my headphones.

I continue walking, but it starts raining.

I get my umbrella out of my backpack and open it to not get soaked.

I keep walking for a bit, before I hear sobbing.

Who was that?

Where did that come from?

There it is again!

I walk towards the crying and end up on a playground.

A person is sitting on the ground next to a little, locked house for children to play in.

The ends of the roof may be enough to keep a bit of the floor dry, but the persons legs are in the rain, despite them being pulled to the persons chest.

I walk over.

"Hello?"

They look up at me and I see who it is.

"Daisy...?"

Their face is concerned until they realize who I am.

"Cole..."
I sit down next to them and hold the umbrella between us so both of us are out of the rain, though it's a little late for Daisy.

"What's wrong?"
I ask them.

"Just some... problems at home."
They say with a sad tone.

I looked at their clothes.
They're completely soaked and not at all dressed for the cold.

I assume they just ran away from home, bot caring about dressing accordingly.

Their hands are shivering.

I slowly take their hand.

They flinch a bit but keep their hand in mine anyway.

Their hand is cold. Really cold.

"W- what are you doing?"
They ask, sounding very afraid.

"You're so cold...!"
I replied.

"Hold this real quick."
I say, handing them the umbrella.

I take of my coat as soon as they take it.

I have a sweater underneath, so I should be fine.

They look confused.

I take the umbrella back and stand up.

I reach a hand down for them to grab.

Just like last week. They hesitate, but they take it.

They stand up, but there is something I didn't see before.

There's a big bloody scratch on their thigh.

The blood is dripping down their leg.

I place my coat around their shoulders.
They blush and the coat looks so big on them.

It's cute.

I do nothing for a second, but I eventually break the silence by asking
"piggyback?"

Their eyes widen and their blush spreads across their cheeks stronger.

They properly put on the coat.
They look embarrassed, but they slightly nod.

I give them the umbrella and backpack before crouch Infront of them, my back facing them.
They get on my back and I stand up straight.

Their arms are around my shoulders, one hand on the opposite shoulder than where the arm came from and one holding the umbrella.

Their head is also on my shoulder and their legs are resting on my hip, arms and hands.

"Is this alright?" I ask

I feel their head nodding and I start walking.

"Where are we going?"
They ask quietly.

"My house."
I say softly.

"m-kay..."
They mumble.

They sound really tired.

It's time to get them somewhere warm and dry.
