"Fine, fine. But seriously, why are you doing all of this?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. Wednesday let out a sigh and met his gaze as they sat down.

"When I first arrived at Nevermore, romance was the furthest thing from my mind. But one of my first experiences with it was in a setting like this, and unfortunately, the person I shared that moment with turned out to be a psychotic serial killing monster. Lucky me," she added bitterly, and as (y/n) listened intently, she noticed him inching closer and closer to her. "But then you came into my life annoyingly so, for better or worse. And I realized recently that while I can't change that first moment here with the wrong person, I can replace it with one of my last moments here with the right one," Wednesday finished, her voice softening as she spoke, (y/n) reached out to cup Wednesday's cheek, his thumb tracing small circles on her skin.

"Our journey to one another wasn't always perfect, but it's ours...and because of that, I'll stay by your side until the end. He said, his eyes filled with warmth, love, and affection. Wednesday leaned into his touch, closing her eyes briefly before opening them again to meet his gaze.

"I know," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

(y/n) leaned in closer, his lips hovering over hers. "Thank you," he murmured before closing the distance between them, kissing her with a tenderness that spoke volumes. Wednesday melted into the kiss, her arms wrapping around his neck as they lost themselves in the moment, the world around them fading away into the fog. When they finally broke apart, they were both breathless, their foreheads resting against each other.

"Come on, let's eat," Wednesday said, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she picked up the basket and began to unpack it. (y/n) couldn't help but smile in return, feeling grateful for this moment and for the girl sitting beside him. They ate in comfortable silence for a while afterward, watching the mist roll over the field. Although (y/n) couldn't help but feel a little uneasy as the wind began to pick up, and the clouds were getting darker by the minute.

"Hey, don't you think we should maybe pack up soon? It looks like a storm might be coming." He said, Wednesday glanced up at the sky but didn't seem too concerned.

"I like storms"

"You like being caught in them?" He asked and Wednesday just shrugged

"I like the feeling of being at the mercy of something bigger than myself, It's exhilarating."

"Yeah, well I don't particularly enjoy the idea of getting struck by lightning, love. My hair's already starting to stand on end. he said, half-jokingly, Wednesday quickly finished the last of her sandwich and stood up, brushing off the grass from her pants.

"Alright you scaredy cat if you're that afraid, we can head back.

"Thank you," (y/n) replied, hopping to his feet. He gave her a soft kiss on the cheek before taking her hand in his, smiling blissfully as they made their way.

As they started to walk back through the woods toward Nevermore, the wind began to howl even louder, and (y/n) felt a shiver run down his spine. "I don't know about this, Wednesday," he said, raising his voice over the roaring of the winds, Wednesday didn't answer, but Y/N could see that she was starting to walk faster. He hurried to keep up with her, his heart pounding in his chest when suddenly there was a deafening crack of thunder, and (y/n) stumbled over a tree root, falling to the ground. He looked up to see Wednesday's hand reaching down to help him up, but before he could take it, his eyes shot open as he watched in horror as the clouds instantly split apart above them in a flash of azure blue light sending down an enormous and devastating wave of wind and lighting from on high directly onto them. The ground beneath their breath shatters instantly under its force before launching both of them into the air.
