Attacking the A-Circuit

Chapter 3

Sunday morning I woke up to find the sun shining brightly into my room. I looked at the clock: 10:47. Wow. I had slept well. I got up and walked down to the breakfast nook.

When I got there, a cheese omelet and a huge chocolate chip muffin were there, so I sat down and started eating. I was halfway through my muffin when me phone rung. It was Jessica, of course.

"Hello!"Jessica practically screamed into the receiver.

"Well somebody is a little more awake than the rest of us," I grumbled into the phone.

"Sorry. But I just found out that tryouts are being held for a new thing called the Junior Olympic Equestrian Team. They are gonna have tryouts almost everywhere and only five people get join the team at the 2016 Olympics, which is NEXT YEAR!" Jessica screamed into the phone.

"Wow, that's awesome! We should totally try out!"

"The tryouts are on Saturday February 22, which gives us ONE WEEK to practice!" Jessica hollers through the phone.

"Ok. Do we have to fill out any slips or anything from our parents?" I ask.

"Yep. All stable trainers will get sheets to hand out to their students to hand in right before their tryout. And you'll never guess who is judging us!"

"Who?" I ask, now really excited.

"The one, the only, STEFFEN PETERS!!!!!!!" Jessica screams into the phone so loud that I have to pull it away from my ear.

"OHMIGOSH!!!!!!!!!!" I scream back into the receiver. This was so exciting.

Mom walked in wearing yoga clothes, so she was obvi about to go to yoga class. She stopped and stared at me screaming and freaking out, then shook her head, grabbed a piece of toast of the counter, and walked out.

Jessica and I then chatted on the phone while I finished my breakfast, ending our call with me saying"Get over here ASAP!!!" and Jessica saying "Kay, be over in 10"

10 minutes later

"OHMIGOSH!! Jessica you get up to my room and repeat every det!!!!" I giggled as soon as I opened the door.

"So, first of all, how did you find out?" I asked as soon as we had got comfy on my beanbags.

"I woke up at 8:30 and ate breakfast, then watched tv until 10, then went to my room and checked Instagram and posted some stuff, and when I went to check Twitter I had a message from U.S_Olympic_Equestrian who is the news for the Olympic Equestrian Team who we are obvi following!"

"Yay, I think that means I finally get to use the dressage skills I have, and actually do real cross country, not just for fun!" I announced.

For the rest of the morning, Jessica and I talked, then we went to see the horses at the barn in the afternoon, even though we didn't ride.

This was going to be a stressful week.
