I nod. "I know."

"Good! And you can't mess this up ok?" I nod again. "Good, so garden, study and of course–" She takes me by the hand and rushes me down the hall– "Our bedroom. Xavier  always sleeps on the right side of the bed. Oh yeah, we also have a maid and a butler, Lily and John."

She looks at me. "So you understand everything right?"

"Yes, I do."

She walks over to a really huge closet and pulls out a suitcase. "Good, now come help me pack," she says smiling from ear-to-ear.

An hour later. Cora is finally finished packing and is on her way to the airport. I'm seated in the bedroom and thinking about all the decisions I've made. This is wrong. I'm helping Cora do the same thing Mark did to me and it's so stupid of me to realise this now. I take out my phone to call Cora when the door to the bedroom swings open.

I swallow hard. "Y-you are back."

"Yes, I'm back," he raised a brow.

"Um, welcome! H-how was work?"

"It's cute how you act interested. John said we had a guest?"

"Um yeah. My sister Mia was here, she came to inform me that her wedding was called off. She caught her fiance with their best man in bed," I say. My memory takes me to the time I walked in on Mark and Lee and I feel a pang of pain.

"Rough," Xavier says, bringing me out of my thoughts of guilt.

"It's been a long day, yeah? Hold on, I'll be right back."

He looks at me, confusion written over his face as I leave the room.

I come back a few minutes later with a cup of tea Xavier is shirtless, with water dripping from his hair. He turns to look at me and raises a brow. "Are you just going to stand there and stare at me?"

"Oh, um, I'm sorry. I brought a cup of tea for you. I'll just leave it here so you can have it when you are done." I hurried out of the room. What is wrong with me?!

The garden is honestly my favorite place in this big house. It's beautiful, calm and peaceful. It's my second way to escape reality, my first is reading. Okay, so within 24 hours I got cheated on by my fiance who is gay, agreed to switch life's with my twin sister so she can go meet her sexy and passionate Mexican lover, and I'm now pretending to be her while I stay at her home with her wealthy and quite attractive billionaire husband… A sweet recipe for disaster. I can feel this blowing up in my face already. How could I agree to this? I think to myself as I fall into a much needed slumber.

"Mrs Ross." I feel soft hands tap me awake. I open my eyes and find a beautiful elderly lady standing in front of me. "Dinner's ready, ma'am." I'm guessing she's Lily.

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute, thank you." I smile at her and she looks at me a little taken back. "Did I say something wrong?"

She shakes her head. "No, come down quickly." She smiles back at me and leaves.

~***~

This looks like a whole feast. "Are we having any guests over for dinner tonight?" I ask Xavier.

"No, why do you ask?"

"Nothing, just curious." So, it's just the two of us who are having dinner. I doubt we could ever finish all this."Where does all the leftovers go?"

"The bin?"

"What?!" I let out before I could stop myself. I cleared my throat. "I mean, the bin. Of course the bin. Where else could all the perfectly good leftovers go to if not the bin. . .'' I whisper the last bit to myself and dish out a portion of mashed potatoes for myself.

"I thought you hated potatoes. No vegetables today?"

Shit! I forgot Cora doesn't eat potatoes. In fact,  she stays clear of anything with carbs and high calorie foods.

"I mean, it's not like I'm allergic to it right? So why not try it?" I let out a nervous laugh.

He looks at me as if trying to figure out something "You're acting strange today, like you're a whole different person," he says.

I almost choke on my mashed potatoes."What do you mean by a different person? I'm me, Cora, your wife. I'm just feeling down because of what happened to my sister," I say, standing up."I'll just go get ready for bed. I'm not hungry."

Honestly I was starving. So much has happened today that I didn't even get the chance to have a proper meal, but I can't risk staying here to have dinner. What if I say or do something stupid?

I'm in the bedroom. In front of a mirror, I just changed into Cora's night wear and let me tell you it covers nothing! How on earth am I going to sleep in this?!

Xavier walks in, "I'm not gonna wait for you to finish with whatever you're doing. I'm turning off the lights now." I rush over to the bed and set a pillow in the middle, he lets out a bitter chuckle. "You flatter yourself too much, I wouldn't lay a finger on you, not even if you begged me to." He turns the lights off.

Harsh, is this how he talks to Cora?

~***~

It's morning already. I couldn't sleep the whole night, in fact I didn't sleep the whole night, how could I? I helped my sister leave her husband's house to go meet another man in fringing Mexico and now I'm pretending to be her. . . I'm a horrible person! I deserve what Mark did to me.

Lily enters the room."Good morning, Mrs Ross."

"Good morning, Lily! How was your night?"

"It was quite good. How was yours?"

"Eh, I wish I had more sleep–" Or any–"but that's okay. Why are you here?"

"Ah yes, your mom is here and she demands to see you immediately. She says it's important."

"Tell her I'll be down in a bit. I need to wash up."

"Sure." She takes her leave.

I can bet you a million dollars I know why dear mother is here. She's here to complain about Mia to Cora. So typical of mother dearest.

I brush my teeth, wash my face and head down stairs.

"Good morning, mother"
