Amber yawned, her alarm blaring in her ear. What time is it? She thought groggily. As she picked up her phone and turned off her alarm, she remembered the message. She checked the clock. “Four forty-five AM.” She read aloud. She had 15 minutes to get ready and get to the library. Where I’ll meet… whoever it is I'm going to meet. Sighing, she texted Sam: Meet me at the library in 10. She grabbed her sweatshirt and pulled it on as she walked to the kitchen, grabbing a granola bar.
She walked out the front door and jogged for a few blocks, eating her breakfast on the way, before she reached the library. Sam was already waiting out front, and he waved as he saw her. “You ready?” She asked him. “Ready as I’ll ever be.” He replied, holding the door open for her. She walked into the familiar building, Sam following close behind. “I guess we just wait here until five.” Amber nodded. Not long after, a young boy looking to be about fourteen walked in. “Do you think that’s him?” Amber asked Sam. “I don’t know who else would be in a library at five in the morning.” He replied. True. The boy approached them. “Hello. My name is  Alexander. I was sent by Raven, the girl from your vision, to meet with you.” Unsure of how to respond, Amber asked him, “What are we supposed to do to stop the Elementals’ powers from fading? We’re not special. I don’t even have an element!” Alexander tilted his head at her, puzzlement showing on his face. “Of course you do! Have you not noticed? Have you not noticed your control, the way the light and the shadows grow stronger when they’re around you?” A pause. “I have.” Amber admitted. “I too have noticed.” Sam added. Alexander smiled, his earlier confusion gone. “Good. Those powers of yours will be what saves us.”
