As soon as Stan had finished performing, Kyle jumped out of his seat and ran to the exit of the auditorium.

Stan being one of the final acts, Kyle was finally done sitting there, counting the brain cells that were dying in his head.

He ran out to congratulate his SBF, having won the part of Benvolio. His performance was great and he seemed perfect for the part.

"Stan!" Kyle ran to catch his friend.

Stan turned around at the sound of Kyle's voice and waved at Kyle as he came running towards him.

"What's up dude?"

"You did great up there!"

"Think so?"

"Duh, why would I be saying so if I didn't believe it?"

Stan gave a little laugh.

"Dude shut up!"

"Geez you don't know how bored I was out there!"

"Aww come on man! There must have been some good acts."

And that reminded Kyle.

Eric Fucking Cartman.

How the fuck was Cartman, Cartman who never gave any shits in Drama class all year, who all he did was make rude comments about everyone else's performances, who slept in the supplies closet more than once, able to act so perfectly?

Actually. Kyle never thought of this before, but Cartman did have his moments where acting saved his own and a few others asses. He was good at that back at elementary school.

"Huh. That must be why he's so goddamn good at acting." Kyle thought.

"Kyle?" Stan looked at him and snapped his fingers a few times.

"Huh?"

"You were spacing out."

"Oh!" He shook his head, trying to feel more in focus. "Sorry about that dude."

"It's cool. You were probably thinking about that really good performance huh?"

Kyle nodded.

"It was extremely good. You'd just never guess who it was."

"Hmmm I have a pretty good guess." Stan rubbed his chin and smirked before saying his answer.

"Cartman?"

Kyle raised his eyebrow in confusion and nodded.

"How'd you know?"

Stan rolled his eyes and grinned.

"He came backstage proclaiming how he got the role of Romeo and how high and mighty he was."

Stan stretched out his cheeks and put on his best Cartman face, mimicking him.

"Pffff what an arrogant dick!"

Then Kyle got an idea.

"He's Fatasseo!"

Stan laughed even harder, not caring who heard. Their loud laughing echoes bounced far down the seemingly empty hallways.

"Oh Fatasseo, Fatasseo, wherefore art thou Fatass!" Stan said as dramatically as he could.

"Haha yea! That's perfect!"

The boys laughed at each other for a bit longer before finally regaining their composure.

"Dude," Stan said wiping a tear from his eye. "You wanna head over to my house?" Stan asked.

"Sure lets go."

"Yea okay let me just grab my- aww shit."

"Your shit?"

"No! I left my jacket with my house keys backstage in the auditorium. It was getting hot back there so I took it off."

Stan groaned and rubbed his nose bridge. Kyle put on a supportive hand on Stan's shoulder.

"Calm down. The teacher is probably still here. We can just go and get it real fast."

Stan sighed yet begrudgingly followed his Jewish friend back to the auditorium.

________
If there was ever a moment Kyle would wish to turn back in time, this would be the time.

They two teenage boys walked their way backstage. The creaking of the old wood floorboards was all that was heard in the empty theater.

"Excuse me! Teacher? It's Kyle and Stan! We just came to pick up the jacket Stan left here if that's okay!"

No response.

"Maybe he already left?"

Kyle shrugged and continued forward. Only a few lights were turned on at this point, leaving the boys in almost all darkness.

Kyle shivered. He wasn't afraid of the dark.

A rattling noise was heard somewhere in the darkness. Kyle jumped, only stopping himself from squealing since Stan was there.

He was afraid of what was in it.

"Dude this is hella creepy. Let's hurry up and leave."

"Chill. I'm just going to grab it real fast."

Stan ran off behind the stage, leaving Kyle in the bleak gigantic theater. Alone.

Kyle narrowed his eyes at the spot where Stan was once at and stopped moving. He was standing in the brightest part of the whole room. The center stage spotlight.

Theater was a passion for Kyle. He wasn't perfect, yet it was something he connected too. The stage grasped him and took his mind off daily life. He was brought to a new world, a whole new attitude and life. A totally different person on stage, any person he wanted to be.

He shut his eyes.

He doesn't know why he did it. Maybe to get his mind off his arising fear? Or he was just in the moment of being on stage? Either way, it was too late to take back what he did.

"O Romeo,Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

Kyle repeated the phrase perfectly and smoothly as if this was an actual show. He gracefully moved across the stage, mimicking the actions of Juliet in the scene. His lanky figure allowed fluid movements that were in comparison to a girl's.

Kyle was prepared to turn around and continue to wait for Stan when a noise came from one of the seats.

Clapping, from none other than the drama teacher.
