not me disappearing for 3 months and publish an update on this weird math book out of nowhere 💀

ANYWAY, I just came across with this 6-year-old video (yea I know 💀) talking about an interesting puzzle regarding the A4 paper, which is my favorite kind of paper.

Even though Matt (the person on the video) said to not publish any answer on the comments or twitter, he didn't say anything about putting the answer on Wattpad >:D

Anyway! You can watch the video of him explaining the puzzle work, or you can stay here and watch me explaining the puzzle :D

So, here's how the puzzle works. Suppose you take an A4 paper, we define its short edge as equal to 1 unit of length. And then, you fold the paper by the following procedure:

And in the end, you'll end up with this funny looking shape:

And the puzzle is.... what is the perimeter of that shape?

(A fact you need to know before working out this puzzle is that A4 paper is part of the A series paper, which is a paper that has been manufactured in such a way that the ratio of its short edge to its long edge is exactly 1: √2. (If you want to know why that's true, you can read the chapter 'Square Root of 2 and A Series Paper' on this book :3))
