Heart Over Protocol Book II Part:1

Chapter 12: New Business

On a crisp Tuesday morning, Monte and Zenae were up early moving rapidly through the house. They paid the nanny extra to watch the kids for a few days and made sure everything was in order as far as the bills before they left the house. Monte was dressed in a blue suit with a sweater, and scarf to match. Zenae was dressed in a matching wool dress, with a furred trench coat and matching fur boots. It was a three-hour drive to the new location, and they wanted to make sure they got settled in at the hotel before going to break ground at the new location.

While on the highway they were both quiet, deep in thought as they both contemplated what is to come. Finally, Monte broke the silence. "Say what's on your mind bae. You know I get concerned when you're this quiet." "I just hope that this deal benefits both parties. I don't want us in a situation like we were 2 years ago, when that guy was stealing money from the kid's trust funds."

"i hear you bae."Monte replied. "The thought has crossed my mind as well,. Whatever happens, I promise I will do whatever is necessary to protect you and the kids." He laced his fingers with hers on the armrest. She looked at him and smiled. "I know baby.. i know." Once they got into the city, they headed straight for the hotel. They checked in and dropped off their bags. Then Monte texted Eric and told him that they had arrived. Eric answered, and let them know that he and his wife would meet them in the restaurant at the hotel in 30 minutes. 

They met up with their friends at the restaurant and, ordered a light lunch. Then headed to the new location. It was a nice brick two-story building  Both logos were brilliantly done, and they couldn't help but contain their excitement. As they walked through the massive space,Zenae smiled watching her husband see his dream come true.  They headed back outside where teams of new reporters were waiting. The ladies stood together and smiled as the men talked and then, they all grabbed shovels and posed for the photo op. After breaking ground, they exchanged hugs and handshakes and headed back to the room.

Hours later as the sun began to set, Monte and Zenae were up getting ready. Monte stood in the bathroom fixing the suspenders on a pinstripe suit. When he finished with that he turned and stood in the doorway watching with a playful smirk as his wife got ready. Zenae wore a matching pinstripe bodycon dress, that fit all her curves perfectly. She paired it with 7-inch pinstripe heels and a pair of onyx earrings. As she turned to grab her fur coat, she caught her husband's eye and chuckled. They had enjoyed a very successful day, now it was time to celebrate.

Monte's phone beeped and it was a text from Eric letting them know that the limo was pulling up.  They left the room and headed to the lobby. Ten minutes later a limo pulled up, and he escorted his wife to the limo. They headed to one of the hottest spots in town. They were escorted in by security to the vip section, and Eric ordered bottles of  Champagne & Brandy.

The couple laughed and talked for hours., and even danced together.  Once they were worn out, they made plans to meet for lunch and parted ways. They laughed and talked the whole limo ride back to the hotel. The next morning they got dressed and met their friends at a downtown Italian restaurant.  After lunch, they went to the shopping district. After hours of hanging out, they hugged and shook hands, then Monte and his wife headed home. On the car ride home, they talked the whole way about renovations and the type of clientele they wanted to attract. They were both excited about what was to come.
