Ella Greenberg got out of bed as the sun rose. She had a mild headache from the previous night. After work, Ella and some coworkers went to a bar. She stood up and sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes vacant as she gazed out the window. She took a few minutes to gather the fortitude to get out of bed. Her mind hurt more than her legs. She quickly went to the bathroom, opened the lid, and threw up everything that had gotten into her stomach the day before. Ella got up and sat down on the bathroom floor before getting back up and going to get some water and brush her teeth. Moments later, Ella's thoughts came back.
She walked to the kitchen and grabbed some cereal from the cabinet, but she was unable to consume it. When Ella realized it was after nine, she made some coffee for herself. At half past nine, Ella was getting ready to start her shift. With a thermos in her hand, she quickly ran to the closet and took out a set of pants, a shirt, and a light jacket. Ella could have walked the ten minutes to work from her apartment building, but she needed to get on time, so she used the car. She didn't want to be late as she had never been late before.
