"Actually, according to my phone, I got the text yesterday, but it didn't show up in my inbox."
Iceland didn't say anything as he yawned and stretched. "Then your phone is too slow."
Hong Kong simply sighed and shrugged as he got out of the bed to get himself dressed for the upcoming meeting.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~U.N. Building~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hong Kong was initially glad that he got to the building first before his best friend. At least it will give him some alone time to think about what is going on with him. Maybe Iceland's right. Even since he met Philia, he had been acting strange lately. So why in the world was Iceland jealous about Hong Kong's blossoming unknown feelings whenever he's around her if he hasn't even pinpointed them yet? He's seriously not thinking about Hong Kong abandoning him just to be with Philia, is he?
Hong Kong let out a sigh. He knows that Iceland can get insecure whenever he meets someone, especially if it's a girl to begin with. But come on, it's not like Hong Kong's gonna leave his best friend—his only one all the way—just for a girl like Philia, right? It would be totally out of character for him. Besides, it would at least help Hong Kong a bit if Iceland has a wider perception as he and support him all the way in pursuing a romantic relationship (if you would call it that way, depending on what could be going on in Hong Kong's mind and body and whether or not Hong Kong realizes it yet, but let's save the spoilers for later). But given Iceland's naivety and childlike insecurities, Hong Kong isn't quite sure if he should start figuring out what's going on while sparing Iceland's feelings (and his own, no less).
As he arrived and opened the door to the meeting room, the Cantonese boy felt a slightly cold air rush through him like an ocean wave. He grimaced. He didn't like it every time he enters the room there's always drafts puffing in his face and hair. But then he also saw that no one is even there. Maybe he was there early and the first one there? Did he misread the time? Or did he misread the text? No, there has to be a meeting taking place and it's at the correct time.
With no other choice, Hong Kong entered the meeting room. It felt a little cold, possibly from the air conditioning, but seriously, did they have to set the thermostat so batshit low as 70 degrees? Either way, Hong Kong felt a little chest pain as he walked towards his assigned seat. Whether it's a slowly rising, mysterious longing for something that Hong Kong did not know about, or that another heart attack or cardiac arrest is about to occur. Either way, he told himself to breathe deeply and calm himself. So what if it's a little chilly in here, it shouldn't be that hard to warm himself up without giving him any stress!
As he sat down, Hong Kong rubbed his arms briskly to shield himself from the cool air. Too bad his beige suit wasn't all that warm enough for him. Then again, what if it wasn't the room temperature? Suppose his suddenly being cold was... because of what he has been feeling for the past few days, right? That's a fairly good theory, but it's not all that conclusive.
At any rate, Hong Kong seriously needs to get himself warmed up. Though what can he do? He looked back at the clock that hung high on the wall. The meeting doesn't even start for another thirty-five or so minutes. Well, Hong Kong didn't do his usual morning exercise routine since he left the hotel in a hurry, so it wouldn't hurt to do a few stretches to keep himself warm.
