You were confused. You found yourself in a bare room when you awoke from your vivid, detailed dream. Confusion was only one of the emotions you were feeling right now. When you first woke up, it took only a few seconds for fear to set in. You jumped out of bed and looked around wide-eyed, taking in your surroundings. The floor was a dirt brown, and the walls a cream color. The only things in the room beside the bed were a mirror, a window, two doors, and a small depressing-looking kitchen. You quickly ran to the window, discovering run-down homes around you and a street dog. Turning away from the window, you slid to the floor, trying not to get agitated by the dog and trying to focus on your thoughts. You close your eyes and, gripping your hair; your thoughts have become too loud and mashed with barking, "This can't be real. This can't be real."

Suddenly everything becomes silent. You opened your eyes. In front of you is a screen like those in the dreams.

"Diandra Hyun," A voice echoed out. "The chosen applicant is adequate for all requisites for entering the Werse. Due to the current development with the applicant with high blood levels and high amounts of stress; explanation will be thoroughly given. A complementary gift will be given before your journey."

--------------------------------------------

A certain amount of applicants are chosen from around the globe to be part of the SNOW PROJECT. SNOW stands for Selective Network of OpenAI and WorldBuilding. Throughout the last 48 years, applicants aged 11-18 have been chosen to be part of the project. In the beginning, adults were used during testing. Unfortunatly, adults have a less imaginative frequency with their minds that is required for the projects. At the age of 11, adstract thinking is developed in a child's mind that helps them formulate plans and think logically while also keeping their imaginative mind. In 1989, The WorldBuilding section of SNOW was rejected due to the high risks for not only adults but now also children. In the last 33 years the SNOW PROJECT has been conducting research in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) with the stated aim to promote and develop friendly AI in such a way as to benefit humanity as a whole. As the WorldBuilding division was shut down, the facilities were no longer in use. Dr. Sinciatii has begun the project again, and through online analysis and health records, a few applicants were chosen for the new WorldBuilding division. Diandra Hyun, you are one of the seven applicants to go into WorldBuilding. There will be no interaction between any applicants as they are in worlds of their interests. Diandra Hyun is the applicant of the continent of Asia.' 'The goal of SNOW is to help humanity and create a way of living in another world without leaving the terain of earth.'

'Do not unease yourself Diandra Hyun as I am your guide ANI. If you have any questions please ask before the commencement of your journey for no confusion.'

-------------------------------------------------

You could only look up and stare, slowly processing the information; you had a million questions. "If I'm here, then am I dead?"

'Miss Hyun, you passed in your sleep. Fortunately, the cause for your continued journey is all thanks to your father. You were diagnosed with 'long QT syndrome' when you were young, and your father traveled around the globe and soon found Dr. Sinciatii. Dr. Sinciatii monitored your brain frequencies and habits while your father ensured you lived your life to the fullest. Your cause of death is called 'Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.''

As information poured out the screen, you couldn't help but let tears fall. Everything almost felt like a lie. Did your dad love you if he never told you, you were going to die or about the SNOW project? You couldn't help but feel betrayed. You knew your entire family loved you, especially your dad, but why keep everything from me?

Taking a deep breath, you calmed yourself, "ok, so I'm in another world, right? So I want to know how that works. I also want to know what the screen I saw before coming to this place...Oh ya! I also want to know if you'll be around to be like a companion or something or if I'll be all alone."

'When your father and Dr. Sinciatii were notified of sudden spikes in your brain waves, they had no choice but to do a sudden transfer. Unfortunately, the sudden transfer could only be done with the last images your brain saw. Alternate realities exist; therefore, the comic Lookism you were reading also exists. This is an uncharted terrain that has never had any visitors from another reality, so the consequences of this reality are unknown.'

'In this world of Lookism, everything is real. You had acquired help before you came here(weapons, martial arts, etc.), but more skills can be unlocked as time passes. Everything that you read in the comic will become your reality. You can or not put yourself into the plot of Lookism. Everything is your choice. The screen you can make appear anytime, and it will show your stats. I am your guide, ANI; I will answer your call during desperate need. For communication, there is no need to express yourself verbally. I can understand you verbally and your thoughts.'

'Any other questions?'

For a moment, you pondered, "Yes. Where am I precisely in this world?"

'You are located in a mountain neighborhood on the outskirts of Seoul. This is around the exact location as the Lookism character, Daniel Park. If you decide to collide with the plot, you can cross paths easily; if you choose not to, you are far away enough to avoid him.'

'The plot of Lookism is currently at EP. 2. Food and clothes are provided in the room for you, along with J High's uniform. Only a certain amount of money will be provided, the rest you must make on your own. Remember the choice is yours.'

"Alright, thanks, ANI." While turning away from the screen, you asked one last question, "ANI, what did my dad really think of me? Did he truly love me?"

'Of course Miss Hyun. You were his biggest treasure.'

With a small smile, you turned to look out the window. You didn't know what to expect in the future, and you didn't know what you wanted, but you have a little confidence and reassurance that this would be for the best of you and have ANI to guide you.

AN: Sorry, guys, for not posting in a long time. In the next chapter, we'll get into the plot. I just thought that if she suddenly woke up in a new world, she would freak out and need some explanation. This also makes it so I don't need to explain this in the future. I'm also not an expert on medical terms, so if I said anything wrong, bear with me. I hope you liked the chapter. :)
